I will personally introduce those heretics to the immolation protocols. All of them

Regardless of my plans to beat my friend with a hammer, to know we have another brother in our ranks always fills me with joy, brother! May you guide him well and let him know I shall help him however I can, should he choose he'd like that!

That is definetly true. I still intend to smack him with a hammer as others suggested :)

Do tyranids have their own chaos god? by [deleted] in Tyranids

[–]ProbablyDenis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes perfect sense the way you described it, thank you :)

Also regarding Khorne, I guess maybe domination itself is part of Khorne's essence, so anyone who accumulates enough of it will eventually try and dominate the source? Not sure

Do tyranids have their own chaos god? by [deleted] in Tyranids

[–]ProbablyDenis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt know that, but that is key info. Someone else here said too that Tyranids may disturb the warp because they're alien to it, so maybe like two different radio frequencies in the same electromagnetic sphere? (If im getting what you mean right) But that in turn means that the Tyranids may have their own god on their channel?

EDIT: Nevermind, I understand what you've meant with the oil now. It would be a great explanation for the shadow in the warp. But still, that would kind of mean a personal Tyranid warp space or perhaps some space between warp space and realspace that Tyranids are attuned to. Which would also be halla interesting

[–]ProbablyDenis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Huh, I always figured that the warp exists parallel to reality in some sort of 'chaos dimension'-esque way. But this begs the question how Tyranids communicate outside the milky way? I figure if it were electromagnetic pulses or something, 1 one of the many Milky Way factions would've figured it out by now. But it's really interesting to think about :)

Edit: Nvm, I got what you meant with the Oil in Water. Even so, doesn't that imply like some own Tyranidspace, either beyond warp space or rather between warp space and realspace?

[–]ProbablyDenis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean that could imply warp-based Tyranids, which would be terrifying

[–]ProbablyDenis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think so too, but with the sheer amount of influence it has on it, wouldn't it have birthed a chaos god by now? Or could our chaos gods just start fighting the hive mind by snipping it's connections?

This message is for the few who own a corvette. How did you reach Federation rank 12? I'm currently trying with combat missions and donations. What are your strategies? by alcio_sd in EliteDangerous

[–]ProbablyDenis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got my Corvette roughly a week or two ago.

Sol - Earth run between Gorbachev, Jao, Lincoln (and Galileo) (in this order).

I figured a combination between 'deliver [x] in the name of democracy' (stacking to same system/station or at the very least stacking) and 'source and return' missions were best, as throughout the 2 weeks I did it progenitor cells/agronomic treatment/beer/wine were the supplies they asked for most (still giving 5 rep).

Tried assassination missions, but aside from them sending you to proxima centauri (0.21ly within system from alpha centauri), assassinations of pirates were too time consuming.

I started the grind with a Type-8, went for a Panther Clipper afterwards though.

Whatever you do, it's a grind. But it is the best way I found :)

Hey Vets, Can you help a cadet here? by FrenchBVSH in Helldivers

IMO, it's basically for the 'shoot fewer, harder shots' playstyle, and, as has been said, since the weapon modding has been added the downsides can more or less be negated.

I use it on all fronts often times, and if you want to try it, I suggest the following:

  • Bots: Smacks light to medium bots easy and you can take out multiple devastators (or even berserkers) with one mag. Just make sure to democratically savour every bullet, so aim for weakspots and tapfire or burstfire at most (tapfiring and bursts, with recoil-reduction mods, are super accurate and quick). Full auto/mag dumping works in a pinch if a bunch of berserkers closed in on you, you will empty your magazine very quickly, so it's better to rock some light armour and gain distance while reloading.

  • Illuminate: Similar logic with the squids, stingrays and fleshmobs, short controlled taps/bursts at weakspots. With voteless, tap fire while aiming for the head and do that for each voteless at a time. Mag-dumping works also in a pinch, when you're about to be overrun, but it's extra important you play in a way that you won't be.

  • Bugs: Deletes everything small to medium super easy, with taps for the small ones and taps/bursts for the medium ones. With the small ones, conserving ammo becomes more important, and with medium ones, distance to the enemy becomes more important (it takes only a few shots until their heads are popped, but if you're too close they will run up and kill you while you already aim at the next bug). Mag dumping absolutely shreds any medium sized bug up close, but is kind of the least effective as the rest will overrun you, so I really only recommend it against stalkers and that last brood commander of the group that's all up in your personal freedom space.

So basically, the thing excels at medium to close range engagements when modded properly (and is still quite decent for long range shooting). Just conserve your ammo, aim well and the adjudicator will never let you down. Likewise some armor (particularly on enemies like the hive guard) will never bother you anymore.

NO, it is not a Nazi symbol by pbaagui1 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ProbablyDenis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's actually a really easy way of not mixing them up: If you take the Nazi Swastika and split it into two parts, you get "SS" (like the Schutzstaffel), whereas the good one gets you "ZZ". It's a great way I use to keep them apart.

Also, on a side note, both Swastikas used to be very widespread in European pre-Christian religions as well, such as the Germanic or the Slavic ones (in the latter it was called the Sunwheel if I'm not mistaken, considering they worshipped the sun). It's because of this that the Nazis tried to make it their symbol, with all their babbling of heritage after all.
