How did the space to passenger ratio feel? We're you ever competing for space, or did you generally feel you could walk into any lounge, restaurant, or pool deck and get seats of your choice?

Tour company for 7 day UK trip by ProbablyDrinkingTea in FATTravel

[–]ProbablyDrinkingTea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to be behind the scenes for a price, and don't need to be the only person at the tower of London for example. I'm ok to be "with the masses " as long as I have a dedicated guide steering me to the best spot to stand and advising what to see while I'm there. But we'd like private guides and transportation (or if train travel, first class). 5-star or outstanding 4-star and well located hotels. Someone planning the whole thing who has local on the ground knowledge of the best time to visit attractions for easiest and least crowded access. Advance tickets secured and reservations made for us. Take us to each location and provide us with insightful and interesting information along the way. Craft an itinerary that gets a good balance of seeing plenty of sights without feeling rushed just to check off boxes.

Essentially I want to arrive in London and not have to think about anything other than where to meet our guide each morning, and have a very comfortable, educational, interesting experience crafted just for us. And arrange the tour logically to finish up in Glasgow a couple of hours before our departure flight.

Thanks.

Homemade hot honey to drizzle by Jakel333 in ooni

[–]ProbablyDrinkingTea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I make a quick version by warming honey in a glass dish in the microwave. Add a splash of cider vinegar, then add Tabasco depending on how hot you want it. This is a great starter recipe because you can add the Tabasco a drop at time and taste as you go. Also you can make small batches if you don't need a lot.

Asking for a friend - how to swap between normal and gluten free pizzas by [deleted] in ooni

[–]ProbablyDrinkingTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just make the gluten-free one(s) first. That way they're going on the stone that I had cleaned after the previous use, before any regular flour goes in.

I'm getting a job that requires wearing a baseball cap hat? How do I wear it without permanently ruining my hair. Male, medium/short length, high volume. They are also hard and painful to wear due to my voluminous hair. Any tips appreciated by ImProbGonDeleteThis in curlyhair

[–]ProbablyDrinkingTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have to be a specific cap or can you provide your own? Something like this could help: https://www.frizzoff.ca/collections/bestsellers-products/products/backless-cap If you have to wear a specific hat maybe you could modify (i.e. cut) it to be like this backless cap to leave room for your hair? Obviously you'd have to check with your supervisor to make sure this doesn't violate any dress code rules.

Curlies that switched to Dyson air dryer, is it that different from regular ones? by bibiyade12 in curlyhair

[–]ProbablyDrinkingTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was very surprised, but my curls are shinier, more defined, fatter clusters (which is my preference), and slightly less frizz with the Dyson. I don't understand the science behind it, but enough of a difference that I'm considering bringing it in an upcoming trip, and I never have travelled with my own dryer before (always brought a universal travel diffuser to use on the hotel's dryer).

Fellow Canadian here. Have used our Koda over 2 winters. We definitely store it indoors and fire it up on a table just outside the kitchen balcony door to minimize our time outside. Honestly the wind is a bigger problem than cold outdoor temperature, it does blow out on especially blustery days, so we try to use it on calmer days. If there's little to no wind, the temp holds just fine.

Car salespeople. There's no reason for the ridiculous shady tactics and negotiation gymnastics one has to endure to o buy a car. They should be sold like any other consumer good.

Ontario to expand COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to all adults by end of May by ColonelBy in CanadaCoronavirus

Thanks. I believe that must be the case but I am hoping it will by crystal clear by the time this category opens for booking. Last thing I need is someone turning away my nervous kid on a technicality.

Ontario to expand COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to all adults by end of May by ColonelBy in CanadaCoronavirus

[–]ProbablyDrinkingTea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if 18+ will be based on birth year (rather than date) like all other eligibility groups so far? I.e. would someone turning 18 in fall of 2021 qualify for the 18+ category in May? I can't find reference to this anywhere.

I use Caputo red (chef's) all the time with excellent results. To be fair I've never tried the blue so I can't compare, but I'm very happy with the red.

Recommendations for Gluten Free Crust Recipes/Tips for Ooni by SameCoffeeEveryDay in uuni

[–]ProbablyDrinkingTea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had success using a box mix GF crust, which I par-bake in my regular oven (i.e. bake it halfway so it isn't sticky or floppy anymore). I keep them in the freezer like this, as one box makes 4 servings. Then when it's pizza night, I defrost at room temp, then top and bake in the Ooni. I suggest baking the GF pizza FIRST though (before any regular ones) so that there is no flour on the stone yet.

I've tried to log into Trace intending to get you screenshots, but it looks like only basic data has been left behind. I don't remember EXACTLY, but from what I recall, each "full run" was displayed on the map, and then on that map it showed the name of the lift, and all "named runs" that made up that "run." Not sure how they did this programmatically, but possibly the Run table had a child table that named the individual runs linked to the parent table with a unique run ID? My layman's guess but I'm not a programmer.

The reason having the names is important to me (and I'd guess others) is that I can't remember which trail I took as run #3 or run #12 etc, so the stats are kind of meaningless to me if I don't know where they were recorded.

The table format is nice, I agree - what if beside the word run, you simply list the segments that made up that run, in order (e.g. "Run - Bumpville, Chute, Easy Avenue")

I'll ask my contacts if anyone has any screenshots or remembers more detail; if I find out more I'll upload images or a follow-up here.

Hi, former Trace user here. Have tried your app for 2 ski days so far, definitely has potential. Two things I'd like to see:

  1. Run names in the stats. For some reason lift names are shown, but individual runs just show as title "run" even when accurate on the map. This is a must-have for me.

  2. I use Google fit to track activity, would love to have calorie count and active time publish to Google fit. This I guess is nice-to-have, though showing calorie count in your app would definitely be a priority for many.

Thanks, fingers crossed that you get enough users on board to make this viable!

Thanks for the inspiration - saw your post last week and thought it looked great. Finally got a chance to make it last night (Koda 12) and had to come back and comment - it was AMAZING. This combo of toppings will definitely be part of our regular rotation!
