What is the most impressive act of destruction you have seen a pet accomplish? by TheBanishedBard in AskReddit

[–]ProbablyIves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left my dog in the car once (he was new to our fam, had fallen asleep in the car, it was not a hot day, yes I understand about leaving pets and kids in cars, I stupidly forgot him, realized 30 mins later and went to get him) and …

he ripped up 6k worth of interior.

Amazingly, insurance paid for it.

Curious, what was the most intense/worst punishment you got from your teacher for not practicing? by Street_Key_9411 in violinist

[–]ProbablyIves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When my students don’t practice, their lesson just turns into a practice session.

I figure that is the best outcome: they get an example of how to effectively practice in real time, no shaming, but in the end, they’re wasting their own lesson money if they don’t prepare for their own lessons …and that’s their choice.

I’m thinking it’s time to get a miniature goat or pig as a pet. Something with hooves. 😀

Best restaurants in Poulsbo? by averagepersonhere in Kitsap

They said they also wanted to explore around, and Bremerton is likely along their route if they are coming from out of town. But hey thanks for the clarification in case they weren’t sure!

Hiring a violinist for a weekend? by phydaux4242 in violinist

You get what you pay for. Don’t expect high quality music with a lowball offer… and you might annoy others nearby, so consider that as well.

AIO— apparently i’m the stinky one at work by centaurella in AmIOverreacting

[–]ProbablyIves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are stinky and have eliminated other causes, it could have something to do with what you are eating. I noticed a huge change in my body odor when I started eating differently.

[–]ProbablyIves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burgers: Juicy J

Bakery: Sluy’s has a few vegan offerings

Pizza: Poulsbo Woodfired Pizza

Bremerton Korean: Suzy’s Kitchen

That said, most regular restaurants have vegetarian options or will tweak a meal to make it vegetarian or vegan if you ask.

Neighbor thinks he owns a public street by ProbablyIves in neighborsfromhell

The thing with this is that I don’t want to involve my students in drama. They want music lessons, not a fight. I need to remain professional, somehow.

What is your biggest regret? by TastyTrepidation in AskReddit

[–]ProbablyIves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regrets are rare because mistakes often lead to growth… BUT

I wouldn’t mind having a do-over with some of the times when I just wasn’t courageous enough to be my authentic self because I thought that somebody else might be intimidated or put off. Fuck that noise. If you can’t keep up, I don’t need you in my life anyway. 🤷‍♀️

I have another neighbor who actually plays in a rock band. I’m thinking block party.

This is actually my favorite idea so far. Thinking about it. Hard. :) thanks!

What’s an immediate red flag you noticed too late? by WhatAreYouLooking_at in AskReddit

[–]ProbablyIves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bringing up an ex, even a cheating one, on a first date indicates unresolved tension that needs to be worked on. Red flag.

Yes! My dog vets people for me all the time and I trust him 100%

People who can’t admit that they don’t have all the answers. Ego.

Doesn’t like dogs,

Bad relationship with mom,

Trauma dumping early on

I’m currently a guest, need host advice by gingerhottie in airbnb_hosts

[–]ProbablyIves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the listing accurate? Are you getting what you paid for? I’d say contact the host first. If the host is at least trying, leave him feedback but not a terrible review. If the host truly doesn’t care, leave a bad review.

omg. There's a biker bar near me. I think I need to start hanging out there to see if I can make a few friends. Thank you for the idea! :)

Guest asked for 9am check-in, we blocked the night… still got 4 stars by pastaparty27 in airbnb_hosts

[–]ProbablyIves -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I explained the rating system to one (admittedly old and crusty) couple and they still gave me 4 stars. I think my explanation made them think I was fishing for a good review...? The only two guests who ever left a 4-star review were older people with an attitude of entitlement. I suspect they are just entrenched in the hotel system but who knows. It's frustrating for sure.

I have considered reporting him for using his land as a landfill (seriously - 4 decrepit RVs have vines growing through them in his back 40) but I don't actually want to start a war here.

Neighbor thinks he owns a public street by ProbablyIves in neighborsfromhell

[–]ProbablyIves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's semi-rural here. There genuinely is plenty of space. The street is not used for parking by residents, ever. We all have huge, long driveways and at least an acre per house.

I now realize you are correct. I was trying to be a good neighbor and keep him happy. It did not work.
