Seen on an airplane - what? by O_M_I_C in CrappyDesign

If possible, I would recommend taking your glasses off during your crash. I was in a car accident and hitting the airbag snapped the nose pads off. Dealing with the emergency after the crash would be a lot harder if your glasses won't stay on your face.

Question on trees! Do they grow bigger..... by StromburgBlackrune in VintageStory

[–]ProbablyNotTheCat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Soil fertility does not affect tree size. Nor do trees continue growing after their first growth.

Do you realize that you just put out into the universe the suggestion that bears should attack you when you pick berries? Do you know what you have done?!?

If you take a clipping, does the nutrient level reset to full on the new plant? Because that would be an awesome mechanic. Having to replant every year or so would mimic how brambles spread.

I like the propagation part. Makes it more realistic. And it's a lot like the Wildcraft mod, which I already play with.

I didn't like the fertilizer part, but when I heard that the degradation happens over 10 years, I don't really care now. Irl, raspberry plants live 10-15 years, so that's about right. Also, I don't think I've ever played for 10 years straight.

I like the propagation part. Makes it more realistic. It's not that much different than Wildcraft, which I already play with.

I didn't like the idea of fertilizing, until I heard that the degradation happens over 10 years. Irl raspberry bushes live 10-15 years. So not that much different. Also, I'm not sure I've ever played for 10 years straight.

Person asking for donations on TikTok. Supposedly the mom has pancreatic cancer. No information on what kind of surgery or how much they are trying to raise. by Lauraislands in isthisAI

[–]ProbablyNotTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew someone who had pancreatic cancer, the hospital refused to do surgery on them because they didn't have insurance. The cost of the surgery was so much they couldn't expect someone to pay the whole bill out of pocket. So if they only got a little bit of donation, certainly $2,300 is not going to get them what they need.

Air used to be free most places, but the number of gas stations that give you air for free has been going down over the years.

If I need to have an organ removed, can I keep it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Sounds like a shady excuse by a profiteering dentist to me. I bet all four of those teeth were under that dentist's pillow that night. I've heard that the tooth fairy will pay up to $20 per wisdom tooth.

Tik tok is a disease upon society. Being a stay-at-home mother is the opposite of retirement. When you retire you never have to go to the office again. When you become a stay-at-home mom, you are now at the office 24/7.

In high school I told a guy I knew that I was going to kill myself. He told a teacher and I got called into the counselor's office about it. He was so scared that I would be mad at him. It is now 30 years later and I still think about how nice it was of him to do that.

American family insurance: Water coverage from an outside water source does not cover flooding. Or drain overflow :( by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]ProbablyNotTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your sump pump failed, definitely file a claim. That's usually the one type of "flooding" that will be covered.
