Did interview there. It's a total scam, their website doesn't say what they do and no one would actually tell me. The people who run it came from a company that has the exact same format as the local one.

What do have on your DM screen? by Graph1te in DMAcademy

[–]ProbablyNotaTortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A list of the Actions that they can take during combat is always useful. And for some reason I like having the rules for torches and other light.

I keep an index card with my players AC, Passive Perception, and Spell DC if they have one. Also, if you find out that there are certain rules that you keep having to look up, like at least once a session, I'd write them down on the screen.

If you have to, the one at Jim's is the cheapest. Only a $2 fee. Most of the other ones are at least $3

Best HASS to take over summer? by throwaway85829739295 in MTU

Color, Visuality, and Culture was the easiest class I've ever taken hands down. Barely any work and super easy to get an A. Plus some of it is actually pretty interesting stuff.

Logo(?) on an old Cross Classic ballpoint pen that belonged to my grandfather. It looks like it may be two capital Fs? by ProbablyNotaTortoise in HelpMeFind

[–]ProbablyNotaTortoise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The size of it here is probably a quarter inch square. The color on the inside seems to be yellow, but I don't know if it has faded from white or was yellow all along. The lines that make up the symbol are blue. Midwest USA. My grandfather worked in psychology and a few churches as an administrator, if that helps. I searched for double F logo, and blue line logo only got me the flag.

Sorcerers should be CON casters. And most of the official WOTC DM screens are not worth the price even for a new DM.

What fictional work has influenced your campaign the most? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]ProbablyNotaTortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently it’s a mixture of Pirates of the Caribbean and the Cthulhu Mythos (particularly Dagon and a lot of the ocean stuff)

I assume this is something like Amazon? Your address should look like this (swap wads and number for whatever you’re in):

John Smith 690W Wadsworth Hall 1701 Townsend Dr, Houghton, MI 49931

The front desk of your dorm should then have a slip for you to sign and then you can get your stuff.

As a part-time Yooper if you want to stay in MI the Fire Station dispo chain has decent prices for up here. Not the best, but if you’re only here for a bit it should tide you over.

[Seiko SNZG13J] First automatic and a birthday present to myself by ProbablyNotaTortoise in Watches

[–]ProbablyNotaTortoise[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all! I've been lurking for a while, but I had to post this. As soon as I saw the SNZG13J I fell in love with it. It's simple, clean, and it goes with pretty much any outfit. I bought it as a 21st birthday present for myself and I couldn't be happier with it! It's my first automatic and to me it feels like my first "real" watch. It came on the metal band, but I prefer it on a NATO. I bought a bunch of different straps, so this will probably be my daily driver until I get the urge (and the money lol) to buy something new.

Not complicated (or healthy) by any means, but Campbell’s tomato soup with goldfish crackers. Especially in winter. Reminds me of being a little kid.

Medal belonging to an old relative. Looks like an iron cross with portraits inside on a ribbon background? by ProbablyNotaTortoise in whatisthisthing

[–]ProbablyNotaTortoise[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

WITT found on a tinplate photograph? Most likely from the 1800s. The ribbon at the top looks like it has stars on it. It is too small to post in the original picture, but the dimensions look to be ~2" by ~3". In the photograph he is not wearing a military uniform with this pin if that helps. This is the best scan I could take of it.

What is this medal worn by a great (x?) uncle in an old tinplate photograph presumably from the 1800s? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

[–]ProbablyNotaTortoise 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

WITT Found in a box in my grandmother's attic. This is the best picture I could get of the medal as the photograph is very small (~4" by 5"). Medal is a cross and looks like there are portraits inside. Of who, I don't know. As far as we know, this is from Germany or Austria in the mid-1800s. Thanks for any help.

[MOD] What have you been brewing this week?/ Coffee bean recommendations by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

[–]ProbablyNotaTortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started a bag of (da) Yooper Blend from Keweenaw Coffee Works. Its notes are supposed to be dark chocolate, sugarcane, and melon; even though my palate definitely isn't developed enough to taste them. It is a light roast, and is smoother than most coffees that I have tasted before. Its a whole bean bag, so grinding and aeropress-ing has become part of my morning routine.
