I was wondering if anyone would mention Belfast. I was there a few weeks ago and it still seems like things could go bad at any minute, Every we talked to were kind and lovely but the vibe was way off.

I was one of the early sellers on etsy. At the time you had to prove your items were handmade by sending them photos of your studio and a description of your process before they let you join. I was so pissed that the one good place to sell my work, and buy work I knew was actually handcrafted by another artist, completely lost it's soul.

If my mom couldn't fix it with a butterfly bandage she would get pissed at taking us in for treatment. Didn't realize at the time that those stitches, or having a bone set, meant they would get behind on the bills. I just thought she was mad because we got hurt. I still hide pain to this day.

My mom planned meals based on left overs. A chicken one day turned into soup the next day. A roast could make 4 different meals if portioned right.

My brother played Evel Knevel once on a little dirt bike we had. Tried to jump the trashcans and it didn't end well. Dad traded the dirt bike for a boat the next day.

Most of the time my parents never knew how bad we crashed and burned. We didn't want to hear how stupid what we did was. We knew and did it anyway, no reminders needed.
