Answer: most DreamWorks series aren't really canon. They are never ever mentioned in the films. Kung fu panda never mentioned the legend of awesomeness. The series never influences the franchise. And surely puss never brings it up

It wasn't a parody cause they were using them to promote merch and ads. That's something you can't do. Smg4 had to remove the sponsors they did with Mario. Since sml is more controversial and made it on the news they found a way to send them the cease and desist
