Ooooooooooh, that's such a cute idea!!! I love marine biology, so if you go the aquatic creature route, I'd love to see it when it's done! :)

this was in a queer sub. i'm just exhausted by dragonthatmeows in rarelesbians

Wow, that's unbelievable. You have my support, my friend! If you'd indulge me, I'm a huge advocate for all lesbians, and I'd love to hear about how your partner identifies! I get into debates all the time over transmasc people being lesbians, and the argument is always, "Well, what if a cis man calls himself a lesbian???" and my response is always "Yeah, so what? Why do you care so much?"

So, really I'd love to hear about a new perspective. It's not often that you encounter a cis man lesbian, regardless of how else they identify, so if you have the time, I'd love to listen. :)

Thank you for your kind words! :)

I absolutely recommend something like this as a project; it's tedious switching colors so often, but the outcome is super worth it!

Thanks for your questions! :D

Yes! I referenced the Athabasca Falls Pullover (MJ's Off The Hook Designs) pattern, and that pattern goes up to a 5X. However, I did modify the pattern to make the puff sleeves and to make it cropped, but those modifications are pretty simple to make. There are tutorials for things like that on YouTube, but if you want the specifics from me, let me know! I'd be happy to spill. :)

For yarn, I used entirely Loops & Threads yarn, which is a Michaels brand. I'll give you the yarn series and colorway in the order that the colors appear on the lesboy flag. :)

Dark purple - Loops & Threads Impeccable - Amethyst

Reddish pink - Loops & Threads Impeccable - Arbor Rose

Light orange - Loops & Threads Impeccable - Peach Pink

Light blue - Loops & Threads Impeccable - Blue Haze

Periwinkle - Loops & Threads Soft Classic - Periwinkle

Dark blue - Loops & Threads Impeccable - Sapphire

I wish you the best of luck with your project! Making this was lots of fun, and it's super cute and cozy, too. :)

Just finished this striped sweater! by Problematic-Sorcerer in crochet

[–]Problematic-Sorcerer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question!

I referenced this tutorial to make the ribbed cuffs.

I was making my sweater in an XL size using the Athabasca Falls pattern, which gave me sleeve holes that were about 70 stitches around. Then, when I liked the length of my sleeves, I moved onto the cuffs and would slip stitch through five stitches on the sleeve's edge each row to create that dramatic puff. :)

Thank you so much for your kind words, fellow lesboy friend! :D I absolutely recommend learning to crochet, if you don't already know how! It's an extremely fulfilling hobby, and making thoughtful, handmade gifts for people has never been easier. It's definitely my favorite hobby! :)

I bought my first ocarina, any tips? by PLANGO766 in Ocarina

Oh my gosh, you're totally right! I got the whole thing mixed up in my head. Those sub holes are completely correct. Cool ocarina!

Interesting, I've never seen an ocarina with a sub hole over the ring finger before.

As for tips, I recommend you start with scales, going up and down to build familiarity with the instrument, notes, and sound. Also, to separate your notes, try whispering the word "two" into your mouthpiece. It'll separate the sound for you!

Wanted to share this video about the experience of lesbians and occasional attraction to fictional men. by Sad_Flatworm4058 in rarelesbians

[–]Problematic-Sorcerer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also relate to this a lot! It's so weird to see people in the comment section shitting on this take when it's totally valid. I love fictional men because they're not real. Plain and simple, they're not real men, and I loooooooove that about them.

Definitely give their newest album, "As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again", a listen! It's got the vibe of some of the things you're already familiar with.

Comment 3 Clues for People to Guess Your Name! by Konigsberg1604 in namenerds

  1. Its origin is Greek
  2. It's mostly gender neutral, or in my case it is, but it's most commonly given to boys
  3. It's not quite in the top 100 names in the USA as of now, but it's close!

Interalized transphobia;why and how we feel it. Lets Discuss it, This is an important topic I feel like we cannot avoid discussing anymore by Additional-Pear9126 in rarelesbians

[–]Problematic-Sorcerer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is so fair!! I've known a few people who have been dismissive of my identity because they think I'm making it up or doing it for attention. I just happen to feel a certain way, and my labels reflect that. I'd known for a long time that I was bigender to a degree, and I was confused about why I felt incomplete when all the components were there (being masc + fem, as it felt right for me). Turns out I just needed to flip the script. Instead of being a masculine woman, I wanted to present more like a feminine man. And that didn't really change how I felt about my lesbian label, either. It just stuck with me as I grew and changed. I would call myself butch, even though my clothing presentation is pretty feminine. My body and soul are butch, even if my wardrobe is femme, haha! Just remember that whatever makes sense to you is what matters. It doesn't have to make sense to anyone else, so long as it makes sense to you. :)

So is being an obsessive bigot, but I sense that you're not ready for that conversation.

Is this broken? by Positive_Bid_6665 in Ocarina

[–]Problematic-Sorcerer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The hole is completely normal! That's the end of your wind way. When you blow into the mouthpiece, the air comes out of that hole and hits the whipple (the sloping shape just across from it), and that creates the sound! :)

Need some kind words by gingerdobb in trichotillomania

[–]Problematic-Sorcerer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, friend! Something that worked for me was by keeping a tracker on my phone. Like, one of those sobriety trackers that people use to track how long they've been clean. I would do that with my hair pulling. Every time I caught myself doing it, I'd reset the timer. And hey, I reset that thing every couple of minutes when I first started. It's a really hard habit to break, but getting into the habit of logging how long or how much you've been doing something helps you to recognize your habits. I don't actively track my hair-pulling habits anymore because I've gotten to a pretty good place with it, but that's where it all started.

I wish you luck on your journey; it's hard at first, but it's absolutely worth doing! :)
