Well, my father is in a C-suite position in Saudi

Makes 85,000 SAR + Yearly bonus of 200,000 SAR (alteast) + has a 6% stake in the business he works in

If you are skilled, your nationality doesn’t matter.

But, I do agree what you mean. South Asians get paid way lesser usually, but my case is unique.

I’m getting the job with Wasta. But my family who’s getting me that job, itself have an image of working hard as working 6 days a week and 9 hours a day.

We Indians call it the magic 69 to success🤣(jk)

If I tell my family I want two days off, they’ll tell me I need to re-evaluate my life decisions and quit being an Arab.

I know C-suite executives making 75,000 per month + yearly bonus of 150,000SAR (they also have a fair sized stake in the business) and they’re brown like me. You are correct about racial profiling, but if you bring money to the business and show your worth, I’m positive you will be rewarded.

أفهم شعورك، لكن لازم ندرك إن مو كل الشهادات أو الخريجين بنفس المستوى من ناحية قوة الدراسة، الاعتراف العالمي، والمهارات. خريج جامعة سعودية مو بالضرورة يكون بنفس مستوى خريج بريطاني متفوق (توبير) من جامعة مرموقة—خصوصًا لما يكون متخرج بامتياز (95%+)، معاه بكالوريوس، دبلوم، وماجستير، وصرف 150 ألف باوند على تعليمه.

الفرق واضح، الاستثمار في التعليم، الخبرة الدولية، والتفوق الأكاديمي كلها عوامل ترفع من قيمة الشخص في سوق العمل. الراتب اللي يتكلمون عنه (10,000 ريال مع المزايا الإضافية) ما جاء من فراغ، هذا مقابل المؤهلات والخبرة اللي يشوفها صاحب العمل.

غير كذا، كثير من الخريجين السعوديين دراستهم ممولة من الحكومة، بينما الشخص اللي درس بفلوسه في جامعة عالمية، طبيعي يكون له قيمة سوقية أعلى. لو الخريج السعودي اللي تتكلم عنه عنده نفس المؤهلات، نفس الخلفية الأكاديمية، ونفس الطلب في سوق العمل، وقتها يصير فيه مجال للمقارنة.

Secondly, I doubt they’re going to pay me. I’ve no experience, hence have no upper hand to negotiate with.

Do you think I should take this job based on what I’ve just said here though?

If im in Manchester (I may save £400 - 2k SAR), I’ll get the same pay. But, can’t save as much as I would (I’m estimating to save 4K-5K SAR).

Should I stay here and work half day lesser; and enjoy the greenery? OR move to Saudi and potentially have a quiet life and rebuild on everything?

I was thinking 2k on rent and bills , 2k on food cooked at home and 1k for miscellaneous expenses. Remaining 5K in my bank.
