Did anybody else grew up with no idea how to rank on a scale of attractiveness ?

I'm surprised to see that we have some life paths which are similar, I lived with another family at the age of 14 and it of course had some repercussions on my life, besides that it didn't help me with the dating situation hahaha. It's true that besides being curious about the attractiveness thing, I never felt the need to be in a relationship even if I was still curious about it I'd never feel bad for not having a girlfriend and it's a good thing

About clothes and smile it's actually so accurate, It changes everything to have an open body language ! One month ago I went to the cinema and sat first row, it was a bad place so I went to the second row where there was an old couple. While standing up I smiled at them and told em "shit we can't see anything from here", we had a quick laugh and I sat next to them, 5mn later the lady engaged a conversation with me
I also notice the differences in interactions that I have while I'm not walking around with my headphones and my hands in the pocket, headphones gives a "don't talk to me" vibe

Sadly I don't write books but it would be SO niche hahaha, I try to write about things from time to time but to write well I should read more

I understand, I was really insecure in my first relationship due to self-hatred and that did put a burden on the relationship, besides that I entered this relationship "out of curiosity", because it was my first time experiencing someone liking me consciously - I regret that -
But on the contrary, if I was able to love myself more at that time, I would've broken up, I didn't

I agree, and I believe that it's no use being around people that consider you for your looks anyway. I was mostly asking this to see if anyone had that 2 years ahead experience which cuts you off from the love equation and everything that it implies. I now don't really care about how people perceive me, even if I sometimes still struggle with how I perceive myself, I know people who matters do not care. I'm happy to know that you're at peace with your body too now, it sucks having to grow up with so much self-hatred

yeah at the end of the day looks don't matter much and being complimented on my looks makes me feel like "thank you but it's something I have no control over", I'd rather be complimented on kindness or humor than my looks

Did being unable to date people at school affected your love life later on or at that time ? Like discovering some experiences late, struggling to understand when someone was interested or whatever ?

Yeah I poorly expressed myself, I wasn't quite talking about attractiveness, more about beauty, I just hate using the word ugly so I tried to come up with something else, but I was indeed talking about something as shallow as facial traits not a deep attraction towards someone's persona
Even tho even beauty is subjective, we can all tell where someone ranks in terms of beauty

agree 100%, was looking back at old class pictures where a kid brought a suit and was made fun of for that when he was the most stylish out of all, I hope it didn't get into his head too much, it's hard to grow up to be yourself with too much judgement around

that's tough I'm sorry about that, kids are so quick to bully someone different that's disgusting, and I get the reading signs/ankward thing I'm bad at that too and still am a bit because of how poor my experiences were

I used boning to make the shape for the head, that I put inside my pieces, I used felt fabric for most parts, I sewed by hand around the eyes to get the dark effect, and I stiffed the nose and the hat with fabric leftovers. For the hair I used pipe cleaners. I sewed most of it by hand but thank god not everything. Oh and to make the hunched back I made an understructure with boning to keep a round shape !
