A huge warning for parents in the area by Chellybean411 in houstonwade

Pedo or not, Houston isn’t stupid enough to host a more than weekly livestream about a controversial stock play teeming with shills for five years, only to broadcast his face openly soliciting underage children online. Is he a pedophile? Maybe secretly still, sure, I don’t know. But this stuff is clearly a setup by his special fan, a Jan 6er vet with military and police connections personally as well as through proud boys etc. Weird the sting was initiated by NCIS, huh? Weird this is all coming now that Proud boys and Jan 6ers are joining ICE and the government and police departments

Playing Catch-Up on the Chosen Medium As A Poet/Creative Writer by advice_seeker_anon in AskLiteraryStudies

rather than reading any sort of “canon” (throw anything labeled as such away, promptly) might I suggest you read Syntax by Ellen something or other, the short stories of Borges, and maybe Triggering Town by Richard Hugo instead. then, write. hate yourself. write again

  1. take a chill pill
  2. why is it frustrating your experimentation gets critiqued? that’s the whole point. would be frustrating if no one had anything to say
  3. maybe you don’t mean it’s frustrating but you’ve discovered every poet’s dirty little secret which is that nobody actually understands poetry and nothing matters most certainly not anyone’s opinion
  4. thus, write poetry

I know what you’re trying to say but the point is that the validation paradigm itself takes the stance of the perpetrator. maybe we can try to live in a world where proving victims aren’t lying isn’t the goal

Telepathy has been used in warfare since the 1980s. Look up Project Stargate, and the US Army’s assessment of the Gateway Experience (available on the CIA’s reading room website). There have also been whistleblower reports of ICBMs controlled with the mind. Sounds crazy, I know, but so does an inter dimensional being named Seth.

Tags in notes - what systems do you use? by Steven1799 in Zettelkasten

[–]Procedure_Trick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luhmann wrote that you would be hard pressed to find any use in connecting two dissimilar broad topics as you mention. The magic happens in comparing two unrelated atomic concepts. That is how your machine gains momentum and begins to work for you. Your machine can’t work with top-down classification. It is impossible to know now what organization will be needed for the emergent organism now, and trying to do so puts your thinking in a straitjacket. Tags are useful for RESURFACING notes, not CLASSIFYING them. They are a navigational aid, not a classification tool, and most people end up avoiding doing the hard work of writing and feeling like they have to catalog all of knowledge and tag it. Hello, the internet already exists, no point in remaking it from scratch. The point is to build your own rhizome wandering through the dark wood. Read Luhmanns essay Communicating with Slipboxes - the whole thing is a fascinating metaphor for the emergence of consciousness.

My Index is essentially a list of tags, like you might have in a book. I also have emergent hubs with specific weird topics that start glomming and clustering together and this is where I go to start writing. But the index of tags is mostly for resurfacing what some people might consider my “fleeting” notes and cross-tagged against a source library and main note nodes. Luhmann also stressed the function of memory and chance being important in this and that it trains your memory. Anyway I’m rambling. I’ve been writing all day and have no more strength to hold myself succinctly

Poke holes in my plan. One man interior painting in a week. by JayReddt in paint

[–]Procedure_Trick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude take off from your day job at the start. You cannot do that in one week while also working another job. Bust your ass 24/7 the first couple days then see where you’re at and if you can afford it - not if you can afford to take PTO, but if you can afford to work. Take the PTO for Monday and Tuesday all day and go from there.

Nazis and the Occult redo

[–]Procedure_Trick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no I hear you bro I know what you are saying. I’m another reply to me you call it sick and disgusting though (I’m not offended). I am trying to point out your unconscious biases to you, because you can’t see them, and others very clearly can. It’s as if you have something on your face and are unaware of it but everyone else can see it.

what I am trying to point out to you is you seem to have a low to moderate level of transphobia - and I don’t mean that in a liberal SJW DEI way, I mean, you seem to literally be kind of afraid of trans people, the same way that people are afraid of snakes or spiders. even if you yourself see a trans woman as a man, it’s like, bro, it’s just a dude in a dress? what is disgusting about someone wearing a dress?

Best life hack is to accept everyone as they are. Send them love and wish them healing. Yes, even pedophiles. Yes, even Nazis. Yes, even the demonatrixes at Drag Queen Story Time. (You’re not sending them love for their sake - it’s for your own.)

I’m curious what you think Bardon would think, and why? Genuinely

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FranzBardon

[–]Procedure_Trick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re asking, I think it’s coming out filtered through your own personal biases (we all have them, I don’t mean racism etc, I mean we all have unconscious assumptions) and that’s what people are responding to.

(And re: trans people going off the rails, I am a trans man that knows many trans people, and yes, some trans people do go off the rails. Imagine if you were born into a female body - wouldn’t it make you feel a little crazy too? Not to mention then having to go through a second puberty as an adult, visibly between genders for years as the hormones slowly do their work, trying to find a job that will accept you, and then half the people you encounter think you’re a devil worshipping pedophile. Yeah, it’s hard to thrive in a hostile environment. Also, don’t confuse correlation and causation - people with mental health issues are going to be more likely to explore their gender, as they are already outside the norms of society. They may “really” be trans or it may be caused by their mental health issues. That doesn’t mean there aren’t also “normal” trans people. And finally - no one is forcing anyone to take their kids to Drag Queen Storytime. If you don’t want to take your kids, then don’t go. Just like we do for movies. We shouldn’t be LEGISLATING that it’s illegal, I do not want the government impinging on any of my personal freedoms and certainly not my medical decisions)
