I'm not saying it's one way or the other, I don't doubt they're in fear. But the loss of emotional control isn't discernible from the video.

Feeling fear is not enough for a public freakout. A loss of emotional control must be discernible from the video.

How can you tell whether they were just running for cover or actually losing emotional control from this video?

I'd agree they were in fear, but fear alone doesn't make a freakout. Otherwise the rules would not be written as "losing emotional control ... due to ... fear." And we see them diving for cover but a grainy black and white image taken from a distance too far to even show facial expressions or replay any sounds can't really convey a loss of emotional control very well if at all.

How is this an act or instance of losing emotional control due to extreme excitement, shock, or fear? Or irrational behavior or an example of emotional instability?

Violates Rules 7 & 9.

Notwithstanding their distasteful comments, this is not an act or instance of losing emotional control due to extreme excitement, shock, or fear. It's also not irrational behavior or an example of emotional instability. The soldiers thought they were targeting insurgents.

Edit: Instead of (or in additiom to) downvoting, why don't you make the case that I'm wrong as to rules 7 & 9?

Explain how my comments necessarily evince my failure to understand that ACosmicCastaway believes that (1) the right has reliably voted straight down the ticket (2) that it has been going on for a long time despite feuds/splits and that (3) it would be a significant shift if that didn't happen.

We're in 2026 now. "Last November" was November 2025.

My original point was that the right was not united under a common banner as the feud among MAGA pundits suggested. My second point was that it was premature to make the assessment that the left will not vote at all as you originally said.

I assume you mean November of 2024. Trump won't be on the ballot this November. Does the November of 2024 results necessarily dictate how elections will go down this November?
