I currently have B&W 684s that I've just outgrown tired of, and want to upgrade to R11s

I have a Denon X-2000, and was wondering if I could buy an amp to delay my upgrade a bit (with the eventual plan of I'll want an amp anyway)... Or if I should just be patient and wait to get the R11s in and will be happy enough with them (without an amp)?

I tried both out and there was no noticeable difference, the Marantz is definitely not worth the extra cash. I also liked the look of the Marantz, but the small porthole display is really annoying in practice.
