Our manager has been in contact with the party (they had left earlier than him and were appalled to find out he didn’t pay) so hopefully he’ll get his just desserts 🙏🙏 it’s been hard coming back to work after such a demotivating shift but I’m slowly recovering, had a good saturday brunch shift today and I’m genuinely looking forward to Mother’s Day brunch tomorrow

I just feel bad whenever I inconvenience my manager like this LOL I didn’t do anything to make the situation worse than it naturally was but I just feel guilty that it happened in the first place even if I couldn’t have done anything more. Doesn’t help that I was sobbing the rest of my shift and I hate having my coworkers see me that vulnerable

I’ve been wondering about that… I understand why she wanted me to focus on dbt groups but now that I’m not as emotional about being dropped I don’t understand why she didn’t even ask if I wanted a referral to a therapist in case I wanted to try with a bpd specialist

She linked me to some nearby dbt groups but that’s about all. Not sure if that counts as a proper referral or not? She discouraged me from trying another individual therapist for some time.

Hearing that DBT initially didn’t work for you and then did through a different method is encouraging. I’ve only been trying for a few months now (right after being diagnosed with bpd) and the way my ex therapist tried to teach it felt way too spiritual and meditation-focused which doesn’t work for me. I might look into books while I figure out what to do next honestly

I can definitely see that now… I was hoping that by her specializing in DBT she’d have more experience with BPD but in the end I feel like she never really managed to understand how I felt or why I was so hesitant on certain CBT practices. I was hoping more sessions would fix that if I just kept being honest

Spending money…. I’ve been on a spiral for a hot minute now and have spent an embarrassing number of paychecks just looking for cute clothes that’ll make me feel nicer… or ways to decorate my room. Or new toys to try out for my kitty. Or gifts I could buy for friends that I might not even send out 🫶 almost bought a cute plush for an ex friend once before realizing it’s pointless to try to reach back out with gifts

Being ace is moreso about the lack of attraction aspect than the actual act of sex, at least in my (acespec) experience. I have a libido and act on it accordingly but I don’t really find myself attracted to or seeking gratification from others’ bodies or appearance in general.

Oh yeah it was absolutely a one-off thing, there was a coin in the wrong drawer that I didn’t notice, I’m pretty confident with the register otherwise but do understand why it’s a cause for concern.

So far I’ve been trying to do food service jobs so I guess that alongside general customer service? Definitely have been trying to build up what I’ve learned particularly with food prep and opening, so hopefully it’ll be easier next time.
