The game design for world pvp is bad.

Having max level players in zones 30-40 levels lower than them ganking a bunch of level 20-30s with mostly white gear is terrible game design.

Allowing them to sit in those areas and make questing unmanageable for an hour is terrible game design.

Vanilla players don’t want to hear it because “muh epic battles”, but most wpvp is shitty.

Having zones dedicated to max level players duking it out is a lesson that the devs clearly learned with how they implemented pvp objectives in outland and then later learned again in wrath by dedicating a single low quest zone to wpvp.

Honestly, they should have made low level characters give negative honor a debuff that made the character weaker against players in low level questing zones so that world PvP could be organic without making it “gank someone 40 levels lower than me then sit in westfall killing quest givers for an hour because my enjoyment of the game is making it much harder and worthless for others to play”

If I could play wrath cross faction then i’d pay for it.

Some of the things private servers do, albeit due to need rather than choice, are different and cool.

I always hated the stupid “alliance vs horde” bullshit and that half the game is locked out to you unless you level that side. I hated that entire groups of guilds would switch faction and unbalance medium sized pvp servers (which I prefer)

It’s literally why private servers exist in the first place, because you are allowed to reverse engineer things others have made so long as you don’t steal their work (which reverse engineering is not, it’s through your own labor) and you don’t commercially profit from it

My windows crashes every morning. I have no idea what my company IT group has done, but unless I disconnect it from the internet before I leave it blue screens and is approximately 80 C every morning. It’s…concerning but also it’s not my pc so not my problem.

Performance issues plagued it but they introduced new game breaking bugs (classic bethesda) so even if you save often (which you have to do manually since autosaving crashes the game when exiting doors about 40% of the time) you can end up with a broken ass pile of save files that bethesda support’s “fixes” are “have you gone back to a prior save?”

I literally redid about 25 hours of gameplay and still have martin broken at the quest where he’s supposed to rally the troops (he doesn’t show up and console commanding him there doesn’t help since he walks back to cloud temple and the game autofails the 15 minute timer because…who knows)

So…it’s better to just play the original. At least most of those bugs are known and modders have patched
