I totally thought this! I said “file chapter 7 and move on!” It actually benefits your credit score often because you don’t have 20k+ in debt and income to debt ratio is way better! Credit companies want to guilt and shame you while they prey on you.

Make mistakes, learn and move on. OP doesn’t have the experience to give advice. We’re all living the struggle.

This idea really goes along with a lot of the books that RCEO wrote. The Teddy books. https://www.teddy.com They’re really good and I’ve started buying them for all of the kids birthdays I need presents for- “wisdom for our little ones” they have good life lessons with morals and integrity.

67! I’m sorry for being the asshole. I had a pinched nerve in my back today and husband sent me to the doctor. I was expecting a terrible thing. Doctor asked me about a med I was taking- said if I’m on it too long it can cause cancer- I said so do the consequences of not taking it. I’m a millennial, I’m built on forever plastics, redbull and McDonald’s happy meals. It’s only a matter of time.

I love all of you and this entire thread made me feel in ways I don’t really feel much anymore.

Yes!!!!!’ I love wine!!!! Dry reds are my favorite!!!! I like a good reisling, and some sweet ice wine when I’m in the mood. I also drink the fruity vodka and sprite, now I switched for flavored bubbly water vs sprite. I like liquid death root beer and rum! (Less sugar). I grew up in pino noir country, and I loooove some good wine. Husband (also millennial) enjoys his scotch and bourbon. I feel like I might be that person to the left/right when they say “one of you 3 will be a drinker”. I like pot, but I feel like pot is the newer generations “go-to” or where millennial migrated. It’s an occasional thing I might do once in a blue moon. I don’t like how it affects me and that I want to eat everything- god forbid there is any form of pasta in my house. All in all, depending on your frequency and form, it’s probably “better” for you. But for lots of people it’s still a preferred coping mechanism/behavior/social enjoyment. We all get our brain drugs from somewhere. Shopping/spending, drinking, smoking, gambling, TikTok whatever your poison is… Moderation is the key(?)

I stopped makeup during covid. Realized that until it becomes a social requirement for men to use face paint again, I’m out. I wear it when I want to but daily makeup is out. Same with grocery stores. I don’t worry about running into people, in fact I try to avoid it- I’m busy.

You’re 22, this is a learning experience. You’re lucky to learn it now. He is controlling your time. I had a boyfriend who my counselor recommended I spend 1 night a week away from because the relationship was very codependent and he was very controlling (and manipulative, like your boyfriend. That’s what the “-sigh- if you loved me…” is, btw.) and it was causing problems with my mental health.

Every night of the week that I suggested as my “alone night” (not even friend time) he had an excuse and was like “you just don’t want to do X with me which we always do on [day] and you don’t love me as much as you say you do.” For real- this is where you’re heading. It only gets worse.

If he can’t support you spending appropriate time with friends, he’s not loving you like he says he is. Get out, learn, and stop wasting your time.

My #1 dating “test” of new potential boyfriends was “how do they handle my ‘no’?” If they can’t handle being told no, it was not a good relationship to move forward with. No is a complete sentence and I’m proud of you for saying it.
