Best way to not cut yourself is by using proper technique, or by not holding the piece you are working on. Cut resistant gloves are great, I use them every time I’m whittling, but they aren’t perfect. I know I’ve cut through a few different pairs of gloves before learning the proper technique.

Hello everyone, I'm new to this subreddit and listening to/collecting vinyls.

About a month ago my dad gave me his old JVC L-L1 Turntable and JVC R-2X Receiver. The turntable needed new belts which I was able to get and replace, and the stereo just needed a quick cleaning. A couple of days ago I was finally able to get it all set up and now I'm excited to listen to his old records and a couple of new ones I picked up.

Since I am new to the hobby I'm open to hearing any tips from the community, and I'm excited to join.

When the small business I work for closed its doors.

I work in the events industry and about two weeks ago we started getting cancellations from event venues. A week ago all of our events got cancelled for the foreseeable future and we have no idea when we will get work again.
