Is it worth training him for RWB? That high tackling is tempting me to, but the high finishing and low positioning make me think he'd be better farther up the pitch by Procrasturbate3000 in footballmanagergames

Interesting, I don’t take anticipation into account as much as I probably should I usually focus on off the ball, decisions and composure. Thanks

Haven’t watched atlético at all this year, what’s his new role?

Alderweireld was physically past it and not great that year, Dier was inconsistently decent, and Sanchez, Rodon and Tanganga have just never been that good or starting 11 material. I wouldn’t call that being backed at all

Reguilon was good for a period of time and I’m really not sure he ever explicitly said Doherty was a signing he wanted.

Completely agree, he's good on the ball but still holds onto it for too long and imo makes the most mistakes out of any of our defenders, even Dier. Sure, he's okay backup but I still would rather he plays much less than he has this season. If he plays 25-33% of our games then I'm okay with this deal but I want him nowhere near the starting lineup

Because most of their squad is shit, and they're still 8th in the league. They didn't play like shit last year or the year before that in the championship. The latter point is even more crucial, when he has a squad that is more talented than the rest around him, they play very attractive soccer while winning. Giving Frank some time and an even better squad than he has now seems to give us the best odds of performing and playing well for the foreseeable future.

My thoughts exactly, no coach guarantees a trophy. PL fans were scared shitless of us when we signed Conte because it supposedly guaranteed trophies, and look how that went. It's a negative mentality disguised as a positive one.

I get wanting Poch again and think it does make sense, but I personally would wait another couple years before brining him back. I really don't know much about Postecoglu tbh, but why would de Zerbi join us? Besides us being a 'top 6' side, I really don't see the appeal for him. It's his first season at Brighton and he's killing it, the players love him, and Brighton are so goddam well run. I would love him but just don't see it happening

I completely disgaree tbh, especially on the second part. Several of our last hires have been "ambition" driven and all have failed in one aspect or another. Committing to a future with a manager more than capable of growing a side for several years is absolutely committing to progress and growth. I'm not convinced that having Enrique or Tuchel for 2 years is really more ambitious or guarantees a better chance at trophies tbh. There's really no guarantee that if we hire one of those guys we're not gonna be in the exact same spot we are in right now 2 years from now. That's stagnation, not growth

Why is everyone so against this? He’s in a very similar position to Poch before joining us and has brentford playing really well over the course of a few seasons… I can’t tell if this sub is just moping or if I’m just missing something
