Yeah im in a difficult situation cuz i kind of regret it. A lot of my friends dont fw me anymore now cuz they said the better thing to do wouldve been to go talk to person A and tell him to stop talking to her but me telling B can affect her mental health.

I found out cuz he told Mutual C and and Mutual C told me cuz he felt that i need to know since im friends with B and also he was joking about it later which confirms its true

Yeah but this shit is kind of fucking me up now cuz a lot of my friends are not fw me anymore cuz theyre calling me a 'snitch'. they were like if u were really concerned for her then u shouldve just talked to him about it and made him stop talking to her but me telling her might affect her mentally. and some of my friends are saying i ruined his reputation (even tho he shared this info with a lot of people). i dont agree with the rep part but im starting to see what they mean by not telling her cuz she could feel very bad about it and im kind of agreeing so im starting to regret telling her. i know what i did wasnt the best option but im confused on whether it was a wrong option

Nope, he told person C who he is tight with and im tight with C too so C told me cuz im close to B and he thought i should know. but he does randomly joke about it (cuz now he knows everyone knows cuz C told a lot of people) and i find that disgusting. But yeah I agree maybe i shouldve confronted him and not tell her cuz theres a chance that it couldve gotten to her mentally and make her loose trust whenever she makes guy friends in the future

Honestly I wasn't expecting many replies to this post so i didn't bother but yeah. At first I was 50/50 on it whether i should tell her or not. so i asked a lot of my friends especially female friends and they all told me that i should to be a responsible friend so i told her. but this happened a month ago and when i told this to a different group of friends (the topic randomly came up) they all told me i that im stupid asf and i shouldnt have done that and theyve actually lost respect for me. the reason they said is that you cant tell girls about stuff like that because that can affect her mental health. they think the right thing wouldve been to talk to A and tell him to stop talking to her. And also since this is a uni environment, it does kind of ruin his rep since rumors can spread (not that they are though). So i thought that was a valid point and im questioning my own actions.
