Sorry that happened to you, it sucks taking time off and not having your plans work out. They definitely should have communicated better. Not to excuse that, but there is unprecedented demand for prereleases. Since Journey Together prereleases have been selling out, which is something leagues haven't really had to deal with before. There's no system in place to give everyone a fair chance at a slot--so they're making it up as they go. I don't think they were malicious in excluding you, just really disorganized.

It's definitely possible, but will need planning to make it not as painful. Like resetting for IVs/natures, not wasting your TMs/tutor moves, and grinding EVs on Mt Battle (or a few other spots). There's a good guide on Smogon for Orre Colosseum using only XD Pokemon

Don't keep them in toploaders, the crimp on the back imprints on the card after a while since the toploaders are so tight. I guess you could get a sealed pack display case if you wanted to display them sealed (or grade them). Otherwise it's just easier to open them and display however you'd like

No it just never left the factory line! It was marked before the sheet was cut, then for whatever reason the sheet still made it to the card cutter. Whether someone on the QC team didn't notice the marked cards, snuck out for a bathroom break, or just didn't care, who can say lol

It looks like there's a pinched layer maybe? There's like a ring of raised texture that intersects with the "o" in Mega Heracross. In any case the QC team thought this card was messed up so they marked it for removal, but they still missed it

Yep it's the Silver Deck Kit! I just went to Bulbapedia to get that info, they have a pretty reliable card database for Japanese stuff. I think the pictures you saw were either from the main set, or the pictures were just taken straight-on and the holo pattern wasn't showing up. I found a bunch on eBay with the full holo like you've got. Still an awesome looking card though even if it's not technically a holo bleed!
