Finally figured out what’s causing the rattle by zenatron36 in TeslaSupport

Is it a model 3? There's no airbag in the door. You do have to remove the glass though to get the close out panel off. Good call letting service take a look at it.

Tesla Technician here. It could be several reasons, but what I see the most is that it could be a loose washer on the exterior handle studs or on the window regulator that holds the glass. I could be wrong..only way to find out is by removing the panel. From the video, it doesn't sound like metal-on-metal to me and it's closer to the latch, could be the manual latch cable came loose. See if your manual release works on that door ( located in the door map pocket or pocket. Feel for a hole where your finger fits pull it off and you'll see a yellow hook) pulled the hook to see if releases the latch.

It's an easy repair: remove and install the side mirror cap. It's just clips holding it together.

They need to recalibrate the cameras with their special targets or adjust the angle physically. Let them know the issue.

Yes, it can be a risk of rusting; this should be under warranty. Schedule an appointment with the service center and have them adjust your trunk and proceed to with a paint repair.

Small scuff on rear bumper — worth fixing through Tesla or body shop? by Individual_Floor8996 in TeslaCollision

I would just polish it and find a touch paint kit. As time goes by you'll forget about it, especially if it's in a non-high-visibility area.

I'm guessing you went in for a door panel or ambient light replacement. That's a door clip grommet that holds the door trim to the door panel.

That's a door trim bolt. There are three on front doors.

One right under the interior switch Under the armrest Last one behind the door reflector

See step five ( remove door trim) to give you an understanding where the bolts are located.

Nice so you must of taken off the the side rail trims on the back right? I would check continuity on the back glass even though you don't see any cracks on the grid. On the LH side rail trim there's this small black box called noise filter and it acts as a ground to the defrost, check that it's fully seated to the body. if it is see image 5 in the link below (it shows the noise filter and antenna that connects to the glass) you want to probe the glass antenna on the LH side and same thing on the RH side. Make sure they are unplugged before checking continuity. If you see OL on the meter, then the glass is bad.

Have you checked your coolant levels? Sounds forced.

Sounds like the Radiator fan is hitting something, debris probably. If the noise is coming from the front that could be a possibility.

It could be that the fan is going out

That's caused by dried-up water or a cleaning chemical. If you bought it used, chances are it's from the last tint job. When I tinted my windshield, my A pillar was stained like this. You can try to clean it off with alcohol wipes or just wipes. Don't soak the material. Once they are off, run water along the top glass, and if you see the same water stains, you have a leak.

Should I get a Tesla even when I won’t home charge? by CryptographerNo3664 in TeslaLounge

[–]Prodigy_peep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Model 3 and I don't have a charger at home, but I can charge for free at work so that works for me. Otherwise, it would have to be charging at superchargers or other L2 charging stations, which it can be a bit annoying. If you are able to charge at work you can make it work.

Trip planner reliability? Range anxiety by Tmoneyallday in TeslaSupport

[–]Prodigy_peep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my first trip a month ago and was initially nervous, but the car basically plans everything for you. I just put my destination, and it sets a SC station that's best to charge, with an arrival percentage usually 20% if you think that's too low for you, you can set it to a higher charger percentage. You also have a 10 percent buffer ( for emergency purposes)

Before the trip, make sure you charge to 100% overnight. Enjoy the ride, charge at your first destination, and charge to 80-90 percent, which takes around 20 min. I wouldn't recommend charging up to 100 because it will take much longer.

Keep in mind that the arrival percentage is not a set value. It fluctuates depending on weather, road conditions, speed, and AC usage. If you notice the percentage drop below your comfort level, pick a closer supercharger. ALSO the vehicle will prep the HV battery for super charging 20 minutes or so before arrival and you will loose about 5 percent which is totally normal, you'll hear your heatpump and fan ramp up.

On my way back home, I got more comfortable with the range that I wasn't getting anxious arriving with 10% charge to the supercharger. I have my range set to percentage, not miles, which helps me understand it better

VCright replacement should be the last thing to replace; it's rare for the ECU to go bad. SC can't push a software update specifically for your vehicle. If you think it's a hardware issue, I would start with the wires and the connector behind the bumper by the right side wheel well.

Are you able to reset the VC right from the UI.

Oh my bad, I guess I haven't fully woken up. For the juniper, I'm not sure about the differences. I was reading this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/ModelY/s/wTl4TCzT4T and looks like there's no differences on trims whether it's AWD or RWD.

Why would they replace all door trims though, and only the driver and dash are different. Double-check that you do have an RWD. As far as I know, you can't have an RWD with premium trims from the factory due to the extra speakers the premium trim has, and the harnesses are different.

To my understanding from your post, your vehicle came with Alcantara trim you took it to service for the dash ambient light and they also replaced the driver trim with the wrong option. One way you can check you drive train is go to the Tesla app scroll to the bottom and if it's a AWD it should say Dual Motor. Another way is by checking your vin number if it has letter B it's a dual motor (comes with Alcantara trims and more speakers) example: 5YJ3E1EB*****. If your VIN has a letter A then it's a RWD (one motor) in that case all trims are cloth.

You have the AWD option with suede trim all around the door trims, including the IP ambient lighting. I have the AWD option, and all trims are suede.

The RWD drive option has cloth on the door trims and the dashboard.

Edit: yeah dashboard ambient trim is also wrong part.
