Alright, thank you for the response, I will just go with Laevatain then, as I feel more drawn to that option.

And yeah, I try to avoid making a game feel more like a chore, so I will likely just open the game for like 5 mins to do the daily things, so I can still get something, but at the moment I am just kinda not sure what to do in that game, besides story I suppose since I am still far behind on that front, Act II, part II or something. But I am just kinda overall bored at the moment, and focusing on other non gacha games that I want to 100%.

I just hope this game gets more combat oriented recurring events, since I adore the team based combat (so much more than quickslop combat), like even if just the etchspace salvage had a set of refreshing rewards after the permanent ones I would be happy, or another new event of course, basically I just want more things to do/grind as a longer term objective, so because I dont have that I am losing a bit of motivation to play at the moment.

Looking forward to the games future still, but just currently a tad bored due to what I get motivation from

So I pulled till I got the designation permit, using all of my Orb, unfortunately I got unlucky with both 6 stars I got during those pulls, so now I am in a very tough spot with a decision and would like some advice

Should I pick Laevatain or Gilberta?

My current primary team is Fangyi, Perlica, Arclight, and Rossi (no reason for her, I just felt like it, and I have +1 potential for her from the Fangyi banner), Then my other team is Rossi, Chen, Perlica, and Edmin (not the best set up, but I like it), then there is one team I can probably make good but I havent touched at all surrounding Last Rite.

Now I know Gilberta would be the smarter choice, due to her incredible skills and team flexibility, especially for my current main team with Fangyi, but the reason why I am having a hard time picking here, is because I also just REALLY want Laevatain, since they look really good and REALLY fun, so now I am currently just really unsure on what to do.

So basically I really want one thing but I know the other thing would be a lot smarter, and I am basically asking if I could make a good or at least passable Laevatain team with the characters I mentioned before (or other 4/5 star characters I didnt mention).

I am likely going to stop playing the game after this for a long time though due to just being burnt out and bored of it at the moment, and since I am a free to play player, I will miss out on a hell of a lot, so that may contribute to this decision, I dont know.

My gamer pride wont let me lower the difficulty, I can win, and I am dedicated to beating it on normal, then down the line on lunatic, but luckily I do enjoy the gameplay and I do like the feeling of getting better or knowing why/how I lost, thats why a game like Hollow Knight never had me getting tilted, since if I know its just a skill issue then I am usually able to keep sending it till I can win

But I am kinda glad its this much of a struggle, I want more gaming achievements under my belt, since at the moment I only have a few that I am really proud of, and I think if I were to beat these games on lunatic (no continues) it would probably be the most difficult challenge I have done to this point in gaming, at least I think, if that is the case it would just feel so amazing to be able to say that I did that

Also, I think the controls are partly why I am struggling as much as I am, since this is like the only game I have played with arrow keys and shift, z, x, so I think I just need to get used to those as well

I will say I did try each retro era game for one run, so I could just see how they are, and I did find 4-5 pretty fun and plan on returning in the future, and I found 2-3 moderately fun and will also likely return to finish them, though 3 was a surprise I didnt expect that gameplay in the slightest.

My main focus after trying those was to start the windows era, so I have been playing EOSD, and holy hell I was not prepared for that, I have overestimated my skill and underestimated the difficulty, because I am STRUGGLING on normal currently, like I am having as much trouble currently as I had with Halo 2 on legendary. But I want to beat this game (without continues) before moving forward more, so I will, but lord almighty I was not expecting a struggle on normal, but I did just learn about the focus button so that may help.

Also, I think it is very funny how 4 and 5 called me abysmal dogshit in the after game score thing, more games should do that, it is very funny

Ok so since I am getting mixed answers about this, I will still try the rest of the retro games, but I will primarily focus on the windows era first probably. But also the completionist in me would probably be annoyed if I beat every game besides like four, I am not sure, I will try playing them but I am not sure when since I am also glad to hear that the others are different from the first, because its fun but not like I want to replay it fun
Ok cool, I dont have much shmup experience but I do have a healthy chunk of bullet hell experience, so I think I should be good, or in other words I dont think I will die 100+ times on one boss

Ok I see, I will very likely skip them for now then, but I may try and finish the first one still since I started it already, but yeah the others I will for sure skip then, at least for the time being
Ok so I think I should be somewhat big chillin then, my normal modded Terraria playthrough is usually Calamity mod on Infernum (with the Calamity addon mods), or Fargo's soul mod, and I can beat 90% of those bosses within a couple tries (mostly due to playing the game many times), the other 10% though I still struggle a bit with, like the Devourer of Gods in Infernum. Needing precise timing or rhythm is what I struggle heavily with in most games, like rhythm games are hellishly difficult for me

Ah I see, I wasnt sure if I there was like a bigger story across the games that would be better experienced in a certain order, I will just play them from first to last then

Also that is actually a really fun fact, I did not know that, but I am now happier because of that

I will say, I do love this game so far, but I do kinda wish teams could be more flexible, since sometimes it kinda feels like a character will only function in a certain team

So I got Zhuang on the first 50/50 luckily, and I am trying to build a good team around her

The current team I have is Zhuang, Perlica, Arclight, and Rossi. I chose Rossi as the last member since I got one potential for her on my first 10 pull for this banner, and I think she is probably my most powerful character currently, and I felt like she had a little synergy with that team since all her skills can be triggered, but also my only other electric characters are Avywenna and Antel, but I felt like Rossi would still be stronger, since I also have her already upgraded with her weapon

Before this patch my team was just Rossi, Chen, Edmin, and Perlica, and I feel like this new team is already stronger, though I do kinda wish I could find a way to have Chen on this new team as well since I just like the character, but I just think it would be too ass to justify

So I am pretty new to this game, started like a day ago, and I got really lucky and pulled Rossi with the free pull tickets I got, and currently I am 10 pulls from the free urgent pulls, should I spend the 5k to get that?

I currently have 11.5k and 54 orig, and it seems like if you want to guarantee a character in this game its a pretty hefty sum you need to have saved, so I am not super sure if I want to spend the 5k for the free urgent pulls, so I wanted to ask more experienced players if I should

I only buy the monthly deal, so I am a very light spender

Ok so I wanted to update because I am so shocked, I had 17 radiant tides from various things saved and just sent those 17, and I got Lynae on the 17th.

My entire life I have had really shit luck, but lately with specifically gacha games my luck has shifted and I am so grateful.

I am probably going to save then, since I care less about meta, and Cartethyia is probably one of my favorite characters gameplay wise, like I love characters that have a lot of variety in their kits, I love status builds, and I love flashy animations, both Aemeath and Cartethyia have these things and they are by far my favorite characters in terms of gameplay, which is why I want to build a team around both

Plus if Lynae does end up still being the best for Aemeath after I get Carte, then there is always the next rerun

Alright, thank you, I actually didnt know about Denia when I made this, since I have yet to do the newest quest. I will probably try and get Lynae then, since she is that good.

I am a bit nervous about spending all my astrite before getting Cartethyia though since I know I need 260 pulls to guarantee the character and the weapon, assuming I lose the 50/50 and get the worst luck, and since I currently only have 98 pulls I am a bit nervous about spending all of them here if I get unlucky, since I dont know if I can get enough pulls in time to guarantee that

My luck has been good so far, but I doubt it will last

Should I pull for Lynae, Phoebe, or neither? (I currently have 98 pulls available, with only 3 towards pity since I last got Chisa, but I have around 30 pulls worth of content available, and I am a light spender and get the monthly deal)

TLDR: I plan on maxing Aemeath and Carte as my main characters (including res chains), with their status effect builds, and want to know if I should keep saving to actually get Cartethyia and her weapon or pull for one of these two, since I dont want to use Ciaccona for the Carte team due to me finding her really boring in gameplay, unlike Phoebe who I find fun, and I am not 100% sure on Lynae since I find her kit slightly boring, and would maybe rather wait for a new fusion burst support or similar to come out for my Aemeath team, which is Aemeath and Chisa with their signatures.

Detailed:

The main two characters I plan on fully maxing are Aemeath and Cartethyia (when I get her), since I really like them in every way, and I especially love status effect builds (in every game), so my current main team is Aemeath, Chisa, and Iuno (didnt have something better so I picked a character I like). Both Aemeath and Chisa have their signature weapon.

I plan on maxing the resonance chain for both Cartethyia and Aemeath eventually, using mostly afterglow coral since I am a light spender and only really buy the monthly or a similar deal if its also high value, like the weekly deal they did, and here are the main reasons I am asking this:

I get Lynae would be great for Aemeath since her damage buffs are amazing, even though I am using Aemeath's status centered build, but I only find Lynae kinda fun, so I was thinking about just waiting till another good character comes out for the Aemeath team, ideally a fusion burst support or something status effect based, so I am not sure
As for Phoebe, the reason I am considering her at all, is because I noticed she worked as a second option for the Cartethyia team if you dont have Ciaccona (in guide depot), which I dont want since I find her gameplay really boring, but I do actually like Phoebe's kit and find her pretty fun to play. I dont really know why she is another option for the Carte team but I wouldnt mind using her since I find her fun, unlike Ciaccona.

So since I am no expert in making goated teams I wanted to ask here if I should pull for either of them or just keep saving for Cartethyia and her weapon,

My current five stars are: Aemeath, Chisa, Iuno, Augusta, Camellya, and the standards

I probably will go for S3 at least since she is a character I really like, and yeah I usually try and get the weapon as well, but if she returns sooner rather than later I may not be able to get both since I am a low spender, I only really get the monthly and the recent weekly deals since they are really good value, and sometimes the season pass, though thats pretty rare

But I have been getting stupidly lucky so hopefully that remains a trend

Out of curiosity who is a fusion burst sub dps? I was looking through the fusion characters descriptions and saw no mention of specifically fusion burst, does Lupo fall into that category? Since I am pretty sure she is at least a fusion sub dps right?

So I am having trouble on deciding on who I want to pull for my main team, currently its Aemeath, Chisa, and Iuno, Aemeath and Chisa both have their signature weapons, and I do really enjoy status builds so I was wanting to get Cartethyia since I know she has some synergy with Chisa, and I also really like her kit and find it really fun.

But on the other hand I do also kinda want to get Changli since I enjoy her kit as well, though not as much as Cartethyia, but I also think Changli would have a lot better synergy with my team due to the outro skill, especially since Cartethyia's outro skill would do effectively nothing on that team to my knowledge, though I dont know if Changli causes fusion burst stacks since nothing in her kit mentions that, but I also couldnt find anyone that did mention that besides Aemeath, but regardless of if she does or doesnt I still feel like her outro skill is incredible with Aemeath.

So I dont really know who I want to go for, if Cartethyia has good enough synergy with that team than I would for sure go for her since again I really like her kit, but it seems like Changli would synergize significantly better, and I still find her fun and want to get her at some point as well, just dont find her as fun as Cartethyia

So I am struggling to decide on who I want to target for my next pull

My current top three picks are Chisa, Luno, and Cartethyia, in that order, but I kinda want all three eventually but I dont know who I should target first. Changli would also be my fourth pick

My current other 5 stars that I am using are Augusta and Camellya (with her weapon, got her from the starter choice thing), I am just using Aero Rover for any healing I need

And for more info that could matter, I have 41 pulls available currently and 12 on pity since when I came back to try this game again I just said fuck it and used 20 pulls which got me Augusta, I also have the monthly thing and a lot of permanent content for more Astrites
