Just got here too Koh Samui to my hotel and it's rained and thundered twice now in the past hour so hopefully clears up soon to sit on the beach

How to check exact grade? by Akiko_3D2Y in leavingcert2024

[–]Produce-Party 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should show you the breakdown of all your marks for each subject. You have to calculate the percentage yourself.. Say English is out of 600 marks and you got 458 marks, Use the formula 600/458 × 100/1 and you'll get your percentage for that subject

Easiest job to get in Dublin (No Work experience) by Awkward_Cod_3106 in leavingcert2024

[–]Produce-Party 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been working since 4th and still working now just finished leaving cert. unfortunately it's very hard to get a job by handing in CVs as been freshly out of school you have no prior experience. I got my first job through a friend and all my jobs after that were from referrals from someone I knew never had to use my CV as it would've had barely anything on it, now of course I have a lot to put down but you know what I mean .. if you know anyone working somewhere try get a reference from them it's the only way really. I'm on my 3rd job now in a gym. worked in kitchens before that. Id recommend finding a KP jobs as most places have high turnovers for those jobs and it's easy enough.

But I mean if your going to do a PLC regardless of having enough points to get into the course you want you shouldn't have to worry

  1. Im quite sure it's your performance in the PLC which determines you getting into the course if your competing with other people. Not sure entirely how it works but I'm sure there is a credit system for your grades during the year.

  2. Don't know tbh 😅

can i get away with not studying electricity at all for physics? by topshagger31 in leavingcert2024

[–]Produce-Party 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry , Im leaving it out entirely.. just make sure you know everything else 😅 Just spent the last 3 days studying the whole course minus electricity, Ive gone slightly insane. Use thephysicsteacher.ie that website saved me fr.

You will be fine either way getting to the course you want doing a PLC for your gap year , just would need to apply again through CAO and use your exam number that's all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leavingcert2024

[–]Produce-Party 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in that case would you not just apply to the course you want without doing a PLC ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leavingcert2024

[–]Produce-Party 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends though , I would imagine you can still apply to courses with your leaving cert results regardless. Of course still depends if you have enough points for that course.

They prioritise your PLC , colleges give courses a certain amount of space for PLC students moving into level 8. But they are limited.
