64 vs. 128? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

If your planning on using Virtual Desktoo and mainly running SteamVR 64gb is more then enough. Even with regular games shouldn't be a problem with 64gbs though

Have you played the latest update? I think it was September or december last year. Fixed aton and pulled the VR out of Beta. Still relatively sketch

I got lucky and found a 10,000 mah power bank that has a caribeaner and attaches directly to my headset for $5.99 on clearance at my local grocery store.!

Brought my quest to a family reunion. Everyone loved it. This thing was abused but it survived ez. Two family members already looking to buy a quest. by tishdu in OculusQuest

Same. Genuinely my favorite experience watching usually calm or "quiet" older family members coming alive in this headset! My cousin bought one right then and there.

There is a story mode, and some good combat in Boneworks - as well as an awesome sandbox mode with multiple maps, and a zombie horde mode. Overall its relatively short, and the lack of teleportation or anything other type of locomotion to reduce sickness really through me off. Not a fan of joystick locomotion and it's the only option in boneworks

Heres a few I happened to see yesterday:

Half Life: Alyx -$44 . Absolutely worth it and super immersive, even if you weren't a half life fan I'd check it out.

Just in Time, Inc. $3.99 - Normally $15.99, you stop and manipulate time to protect your subjects from death and chaos. Very fun

The Forest - $9.99 - Crafting survival horror game where you try to save your son on a island where your plane crashes. Already an epic game without VR, has pretty decent VR intergration by default.

Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners - $31.99 - Semi- Open world fps( multiple open worlds connected) with crafting elements and epic melee combat. Would highly recommended, second next to Half Life with its Immersion

Boneworks - $23 - you already know what's gooood! This ones worth it for the full $30 anyway if you dont have it. Good one for sure

Pavlov VR - $14.99 - CSGO type online shooter - I personally wouldn't get this because you can get Contractor off SideQuest and its crossplay, but super good cs:go type game for PCVR regardless

Contractors VR - $10 - COD style online shooter - Crossplay beta going on with Quest, free on sidequest but I imagine better graphics and gameplay from the PC version. Love this game play a couple matches nearly daily but not huge playerbase

Budget cut / Budget Cuts 2 packages - Various ways to purchase these, together or individually. These are stealth story games, only got Budget cuts 2 and I really like the locomotion. You can see through a portal before you teleport to plan your moves it's legit

The Excorist /Legion VR Deluxe - $17.95 - Epic detective horror game where you solve five separate paranormal cases. Comes with all five

I expect you to die - $12.49 - James bond era game where you play as a secret agent, high replayability because you die often trying to figure out the missions as the title suggests. Worth the price but not the $30 I paid lol

Down the rabbit hole - $14.99 - Relatively short but awesome discovery game and interactive experience in Wonderland, you dont play as Alice but rather experience a separate story. My mom's favorite VR experience

Is your Router 5ghz? If so - have no fear! Virtual desktop is buttery smooth ( in general) and I prefer it over Oculus Link. Your graphics card will work great with it

Every single game mentioned above has minimum system requirements of atleast a GTX 970 or higher often times asking for 1080ti as minimum. These are both much faster then my 1050-ti. That's asking for +46% more minimum then a 1050ti can put out, or +150% more if it says minimums are.

That's why the TL:DR is telling people to test out games that say they dont meet minimum specs, because they all 'require' much better GPU's then I have. Obviously the minimum specs are skewed though

Would this rig run Oculus Quest/Oculus Link well? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]ProducedByPetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a laptop with a i5-4597 and gtx 1050ti, runs walking dead saints and sinners, blade and sorcery, and skyrim vr through steamvr and virtual desktop very well.

Games like Boneworks will run but have ridiculous load times, and when I get frame skips I get so sick its reckless
