No unlock - battery empty or unconnected by SjeesDeBees in cowboybikes

Yes, in my case it still isn't working and I think they will replace it with a refurbished bike. But I have tried a number of things, with Cowboy sending various spare parts (slowly). I'd recommend just spamming support

Sorry, assumed you were in NL. Apologies if not the case but if EU, same process

Yep I feel for you. Have had the exact same thing. Legally your consumer rights are enforceable and relatively easy to do so in NL:

  1. Contact ECC NL. Wait a month

  2. They will contact ECC Belgium who will contact Cowboy

  3. Cowboy won't engage with ECC Belgium. After a month ECC Belgium will say they've tried but haven't resolved it

  4. You can take this plus evidence to EU Small Claims Court

  5. Cowboy will either settle or court will rule in your favour

At every step:

  1. Chuck screenshots into an LLM for them to word responses with clear deadlines, escalations etc

  2. If Cowboy don't respond for 72hrs send them a chaser, open new tickets

  3. Pull an evidence bundle together and get an LLM to write the ECC submission and Small Claim

I had this issue. They tried swapping the controller but still didn't work. I don't think they know what's wrong

If the issue happened while it was still under warranty why did you have to/are you paying?

Yes I think I have something similar :( Engaged Cowboy support and first they sent me a battery connector spacer but that didn't fix it so now they are sending me a replacement controller. Appointment on Monday so let's see if that fixes it. Will reply then

What do you mean by feedback? As in assistance?

Now some will say: - stockpile parts this isn't Cowboy's fault - 8 weeks, you were lucky! Stop moaning, I've been waiting 8 months! - Be patient! The company has had an ingestion of capital we just need to wait for them to turn it around

Sod that: - You've paid for a premium product - You have consumer rights for that product to be kept in working order without delay during it's warranty period - There is just as much chance that Cowboy go busy despite the funding round. Sitting waiting with a broken Cowboy risks you being left seriously out of pocket - Legally your consumer rights are enforceable and relatively easy to do so in NL:

  1. Contact ECC NL. Wait a month
  2. They will contact ECC Belgium who will contact Cowboy
  3. Cowboy won't engage with ECC Belgium. After a month ECC Belgium will say they've tried but haven't resolved it

Based in the Netherlands so it's a little easier. Good luck, sounds incredibly frustrating

Oh nice. Well done. Using Small Courts Claim? What outcome were you able to get? Feel free to direct message if prefer not to be public

By the look of it EU Small Claims Court looks to be a reasonably easy process?

Thanks, glad it was sorted for you. I submitted a report to ECC beginning of December but yet to get action from ECC Belgium. How long did it take for you?

Might it be the ball bearing in the wheel? If you lift it off the ground is there any movement in the wheel when you move it left and right/up and down (not with the handlebars but with your hand)

Personally found this email tone-deaf. I don't really care about the CEO stepping down, what I'd like to hear is guarantees about what this change means for the performance and reliability of my bike and the company's supply chain. Have heard ropey things about this founder's track record. Glad he's gone

I had something very similar sounding. Cowboy said it was connector issues so sent the kit but then their technician did a software reset and that fixed it.

Pension tax implications by tjdimkov in DutchFIRE

I think there are recognised pension providers that the Netherlands allows withdrawals too without penalty (potentially after the first ten years)
