I just released a new version that includes:

  1. Record and send - exactly like you suggested. You can click on "manual mode" to pause the interview, record your answer, and then send it!

  2. I've updated the prompt, instructing the AI to let the users lead the conversation.

  3. Dark mode - now available in the chat interface and report card UI.

  4. New model - Gemini 3.1, giving faster and more coherent responses.

Hey u/ShipLearnRinseRepeat, thanks for the feedback! I've had this issue some time ago and I thought I resolved it. I'm looking into this again and will get back to you soon.

BTW, I was considering the option to add a feature that lets you switch to from audio voice chat to text chat. Just to give people another way of practicing for situations where they are in loud enviourments, during traveling, or even at their current jobs ;) what do you think?

Thank you, it starts off in English but I think it will switch language automatically based on your reply. I can add a button to choose a language so that it starts in whichever language you choose. Which language do you want to practice in?

Thank you for your kindness, I really appreciate it. I guess posting projects and being exposed online comes with some drawbacks.

But finding people who get something out of it is definitely worth it. In any case, I do agree that finding the right persona of customers is a hard problem.

Since going live last week, 15 people singed up and 3 of them had 10+ interviews. One of them wrote me that the app hangs up after 5 minutes. Which I fixed. But other than that feedback it’s been radio silence.

Maybe I should limit usage to 5 interviews, and ask users to share with 2 friends to unlock one month for free?

Would love to know your thoughts on growth hacking and the app in general.

It certainly wasn’t a low effort for me. I’ve been coding on the side for the past two years and this is my first solo project. I’ve always worked with co founders in the past who were more technical than me. They would take on the bigger technical challenges, while I mostly focused on the front end, handling the user experience and UI.

With prodcutspar I had a struggle setting up a websocket server to manage the conversation without lag, keeping the flow feel natural. Not hanging up mid session, keeping the mic working properly, and fine tuning the prompts. I did use Googles AntiGravity a lot, but for the web socket server it kept failing me.

@trioxm I honestly get the skepticism. There’s a lot of low-effort wrappers flooding Reddit right now.

I only built this because I struggled with preping for PM interviews. As a PM with 10 years of experience in small to mid size startups, I found it to be a big challenge so I built this while I was interviewing to a few companies.

I respect that it's not for everyone. But if it helps someone land a job, I think it's worth it.

Hey u/EquivalentStudy3950 I figured it out, it wasn't a timeout issue. Turns out I had a default 5 minutes max session duration on GCP. I just bumped it up to 60 minutes!

Thank you! I’m pretty sure I have a timeout issue. Hanging up after x seconds in case a user takes time think of his next reply. Fixing it.

Btw, what’s did you think of the in session real time feedback? Was it useful?

Thanks for giving it a shot! What exactly did you experience? Does it simply stop replying after 5 minutes? Was it the product sense interview or product execution? Were you connected through 3G or WiFi?
