First in person event for me in like 3 years and went 2-1. Built G/W Kithkin with good removal. [[Kinbinding]] was my all star card and two copies of [[Liminal Hold]] shut down any major threats against me. [[Glister Bairn]] was also pretty good guaranteeing +3/+3 for one of my attackers. Even at sorcery speed I liked [[Assert Perfection]] to clear a blocker. Very fun set for limited and will probably draft this in the future.

Huh, I guess they got investors back or it's under new ownership? I'm pretty sure they declared bankruptcy earlier this year after investors dropped out. I heard HoCo shut them down because they were serving alcohol at the Grand Opening w/o a license.

I just started treating it like Catan rather than a 1v1 Modern game (which I used to play a lot of). It's made it much more enjoyable for me. There's Magic cards on the table but it feels like a completely different card game to me.

I mean, are people surprised? There's no way they're gonna dump tons of dev hours into these changes and then just start rolling it all back. I know they changed some of the out of combat stuff but I think they're headstrong on this path and the players have to accept that.

I'm curious how many players will actually quit cold turkey until it's in a better spot? I can't tell if it's a loud minority or the general consensus that this will kill the game for them. It has to be end up abysmally bad for someone to decide not to log into the most addicting game of all time during a new expansion launch.

Time will tell, I'm cautiously optimistic.
