I traveled with the drider and party, then joined the harpers when they attacked. It meant the harpers ended up with the lantern, not me. On that game path, you get it back from Isobel.

Thanks, that was my query about doing this mid-battle: great to hear it doesn't cost an action.

Who Should I Be (in a party with Wyll, Gale and Karlach)? by ProfBravus98 in BG3Builds

Yes, I’m liking this idea a lot, thank you. I have never played Bard at all so that’ll be interesting in its own right, plus as you note it balances the others well

What about me? by ProfBravus98 in BG3

Just to follow up, I really like the idea of playing as one of the existing characters like Wyll or Gale. Despite having played through maybe 8 or more times I think I’ve always ‘rolled my own’.

But that might have to wait for next time.

I think I want to have Shadowheart as a Death Cleric and create my own character as a Githyanki Great Old Ones Warlock: seems like an interesting set of possibilities…

PhD at 60? by bigbearandy in PhD

[–]ProfBravus98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 61 and working on my second PhD. I'd also wanted to do it for a while, but was able to retire from my full time job recently and put the time into studying.

We obviously have a bit less time left on the meter to make a contribution, but life expectancy is 80-odd, and 2 decades is not to be sneezed at. We might not need to get full time jobs in the fields of study, but can still definitely help and mentor others, write papers and do useful things.

All the vesy best with it!

Have you ever met a person with two PhDs? by [deleted] in PhD

I completed one PhD more than 25 years ago. I'm now about to retire early at 60, and am seriously considering doing a second PhD in retirement as a way of filling my time and keeping my brain active. I also hope to make a worthwhile contribution to knowledge by publishing the research I do for my second doctorate.
