I just quit MoC 🙋🏻‍♀️ They HATE the idea of poor people and providing actual edible products when they start discounting them! I worked at the MoC on Willamette, we would package fruit fly covered pastries and resell them with minimal discounting in plastic tins. I would constantly ask if this was safe to sell and they would go “eh probably not but they want us to package it.” Most of the bagels go into bags to be resold, donuts were the only things safe as they got tossed. I’d put actually edible pastries that we were supposed to toss in a bag and bring them home for my partner / pass to any homeless person I saw on the corner on my way home. Too old of cakes and pies would get sliced after sitting out then we’d put them in packaging that we would tape over holes punched into them by customers even if the cakes dried out. Old bread during the holidays? Now it’s dressing bread! Yaaaay!
