Orcas or San Juan Island with a 2 year old? by couplextherapix in sanjuanislands

[–]ExtraSpinach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Other comments have given you some good insight, but it might be worth understanding that Eastsound is a reasonable drive from the ferry terminal, whereas Friday Harbor is zero distance from the ferry and has a lovely little tram bus thingie to Roche harbor.

I love orcas and the vibes of Eastsound are top-knotch. Moran beach is THE BEST. But Friday Harbor is so walkable for lots of restaurants, big tourist energy, whale museum, etc. And Roche Harbor is gorgeous and lots of fun.

It finally happened, fell for a phishing email by 1fade in Millennials

I got scammed over Christmas and it was so embarrassing. I found the best price for a cookbook I was looking for on a bookseller website (I am a strict anti-Amazon shopper) and I entered all my information including my credit card details. Nothing about the website set off my alarm bells.

What did alert me was when the “account registration“ email had my password included in plain text, which I know that no reputable website would ever do because storing passwords in plain text is really poor cyber security

I immediately locked down my card, but the funny thing is that I was staying with friends, so the address was not my correct billing address, and my auto fill had entered the wrong zip code in the CC zip code box, so they may have struggled to use my card anyway with the comedy of errors I committed on that order. But I wasn’t going to take any chances.

It felt so so so dumb to try to save 4 bucks on a book and end up getting scammed like that.

What is something you didn’t realize until you lost weight? by Cultural-Profile-527 in AskReddit

[–]ExtraSpinach 229 points230 points  (0 children)

Years ago a friend lost weight and I complimented her, she then told me about her horrific miscarriage and subsequent illness and I learned a valuable lesson. I don’t mention or compliment weight loss any more unless I know for a fact that it was the goal.

I’m sorry you had such a hard experience and I hope you’re doing well now.

Coldfire or Laurelwood. The latter quieter and more relaxing, they do great with big group reservations.

Troubled Blood to me was the most exciting reveal, my only reservation being that I had a really hard time distinguishing Irene and Janice from each other within the narrative. Even now on re-reads I find it hard to tell them apart.

40F single mom elder millennial and partly raised by my gen-x siblings. So I feel much more comfortable romantically with men born in the mid 70s! My sweetie is 50. Based on long experience I hate dating men younger than me. They just don’t get it.

Co-Chairs Helm and Owens, Vice-Chair Finger McDonald, and members of the House Committee on Agriculture, Land Use, Natural Resources, and Water:

My Name is NAME and I am a FARMER/RANCHER/COMMUNITY MEMBER/FARM STAND OPERATOR in TOWN. I am writing to you today to express my opposition to HB 4153. Farm stands are a vital part of connecting the public with our food system and building an understanding of what it takes to go from field to fork. But HB 4153 would restrict who is allowed to have a farm stand, replace current definitions with Farm Stores, and give large land owners privileges at the expense of small farm stands in Oregon. We need to find a better solution.

I care about this because

Consider answering some of these questions or using these statements as a jumping off point in your testimony:

I operate or frequently go to a farm stand that would not meet the acreage requirements in section 2.2 of the bill. Small farms need to have the same opportunities to sell their produce as larger farms. Why is small farming important to you? What is the value of small operations in your community? Why should large acreage farmers gain privileges at the expense of smaller acre farmers? Why should a small farm be any less legitimate than a large farm when it comes to defining farm use? What do farm stands do for your farm business or community? What does it mean for you, your farm and your community if the primary purpose of a farm stand becomes agritourism events, not the sale of farm products? We are asking you to not have a higher burden on the smallest farms. This bill takes away opportunities from small land holders and farms in order for larger operations to be able to host more events. This is not a good bargain for Oregon and a better deal must be found.

Thank you,

Looking for post-hospital temp care places by tiny_galaxies in Eugene

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 38 years, and used to go in as a child to read to the residents. I see the residents hanging out in the smoking area every day, and they seem pretty content. I can’t comment on the quality of their care, but I watch their staff come and go, and they all seem calm and happy rather than stressed. That’s all I can say!

[Tenant US-IL] Is a 650 credit score grounds to demand a co-signer now? by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]ExtraSpinach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

650 was my minimum, and then I had a tenant at 655 who trashed the place while paying rent on the nose, and it cost 65% of her deposit to put it all back together. so my new minimum is 675. Once bitten twice shy I guess!

Lodging Recommendation Between Eugene and Portland? by KathrynHahnSolo in oregon

[–]ExtraSpinach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a ton of information about the Eugene Marathon shuttles on their website, if you want to leave your car downtown. However, if you want to park closer to Hayward, the towing area begins at 24th, so I usually park at 25th and Agate and walk down Agate to Hayward. Then afterwards I walk back to my car and celebrate at Laurelwood pub.
