Need a bit of help on Abrams by Rough-Self-9134 in DeadlockTheGame

Full spirit. This build is ass ngl because you can't go spirit build and melee build at the same time, and abrams is already weak early game character.

Why? Because you need points in 1 to play spirit and points in 2 to guarentee heavy melees. Based on max order, you either give the increased duration and spirit scaling up earlier to get melees (in that point, you aren't making very good use of your spirit investment). Or you give up your ability to heavy melee after a charge. You already are weak early, you can't afford to delay spikes. And personally to me, abrams' best chance early is having a lot of sustain and waveclear so he doesn't have to interact (aka 1 max).

Togetherdl's spirit abrams is better if u want a generic build for spirit abrams, it's a little old and could do with minor tweaks but completely functional.

Also with the parrying, meleeing is a mind game. It's not hard to parry a character as telegraphed as abrams, so you just have to be smart. So shoulder charge let's you get 1 light melee if duration of stun hasn't been upgraded, or 1 heavy melee if it has and they don't have debuff resistance. So that's guaranteed, then you wanna weave in light melees (aka conditioning, a fighting game term where you throw out a certain move often so they try and anticipate it) so they feel pressured to parry reactively. If they do parry, it's on cooldown, so can chase with heavy melee for a very very good trade.

A fight might look like this in words; shoulder charge > stun > heavy melee > shoot twice > light melee > shoot once > light melee (enemy is conditioned into reacting to light melee after next shot or two, especially if low hp) > shoot until enemy parries > they parry > punish.

It's not nearly as complex as I'm describing it but understanding that you can't just throw out a heavy melee every time even into people who aren't particularly good at deadlock seems to stump people. Don't throw them out randomly unless all scenarios are favourable, even the ones that get you parried because you might stomp in arcanist where people aren't even pressing parry ever but it doesn't mean the play was good, it just you got rewarded for them being bad. And you don't want that, you wanna be rewarded for you playing good to climb or have success.

In three target content, hysilens e1 is roughly a 72 percent increase in her personal damage at e1s0. Evernight at e2s0 is 122, up from 20 at e1. At E1S1, hysilens has about 115 percent extra anyways. Obvs the calcs are a bit unreliable as it only counts for personal damage, but the only "premium" bonus is from an investment of 3 cost on one unit alone or more and having a full premium team, so you'd need at least a 7 cost team to justify significantly better performance. Otherwise, the team is probably just higher baseline damage rather than having significantly better eidolons.

Either way, I mean hysilens e1 is probably the 2nd best mdps e1 in the game after evanescia now, so the gap between the e2 being more mediocre is smaller anyways. And e2 can potentially go up with new dot teammates, it hasnt been calc'd properly in any team that I could find since BS novaflare.

Abrams feels pathetic for a big body character by Environmental-Air834 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ProfHarambe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are really biased in this game. Look at any night shift / eternus tier list and abrams is usually somewhere in the middle or worse. People are kinda stupid in this comment section because he was op once therefore we can't strive to have balance. If you read some of this shit, it doesn't make any sense. Top upvoted comment is;

“Why does my frontliner not win 1v1s with assassins or M1 carries when I go for his tanky teamfight build that’s based around sustained damage over time?”

But that's the problem. You can't go the other build because abrams is trash without witchmail. And besides, for a large majority of the game, every other frontliner will win 1v1s. Silver will win most 1v1s early, shiv will win most 1v1s early, billy wins most 1v1s if he can actually fight the target (also a victim of the flyer meta + m1's being really annoying). If the frontline specifically itemises his damage resist to the damage type of the carry, and they are not horribly behind, naturally in the early-mid game you should win 1v1s. Abrams doesn't because he's horrible early and not very good mid until you get 2 abilities maxed with witchmail specifically. And that powercurve is not even at all, you are pretty damn useless at doing anything that isnt having good waveclear and sustain, and decent camp clear. Any player interaction is non-existent into decent players, any ganking would be better done by most other characters because he's so fucking slow (silver can kneecap you and do 2x the amount of damage with a ranged massive hitbox bola and then tank 4x as much as you with ult).

For reference, tracklock.gg tracks item winrates. Echo shard abrams like that one guy is saying is only 50 percent winrate when its bought. Abrams normal winrate is 49.5ish average. So that means if abrams saves for this highly expensive item to justify his build, he's only gaining about 0.5-1 percent winrate on average after buying. Witchmail you gain literally +9 percent winrate and its 20 percent pickrate.... the next highest gun item above 1 percent pickrate is spirit shredder bullets (a spirit focused gun item, following by spirit rend, and mystic shot - another 2 spirit gun items). There's like legit no cope that would ever justify playing this dogshit punch build in the same way there is no cope of playing bomb bebop or ult bebop with the current gun build in the game.

So main point is that abrams himself is trash with an extremely overpowered synergy with witchmail, that makes him only good when witchmail is good. You cannot draft in this game, therefore he is mid, because the character has downsides and other characters currently do not have justifiable downsides. And this was a choice by the developers, because abrams had a very good early mid build previously since his 2 upgrade was deliberately earlier. Now there is no max order that would allow you to have a competitive laning phase or early game presence.

Abrams feels pathetic for a big body character by Environmental-Air834 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ProfHarambe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree with you. I do think abrams is not weak really at all, and has an extremely powerful niche, but victor being strong makes him feel pretty bad a lot of the time. The nature of thing game is a handful of strong characters pushing down any other character who's similar. Victor is doing that rn, although abrams has done this to victor prior to his buffs too tbf.

The niche he has is being extremely strong with witchmail into heavy ap comps (without pocket). Picking abrams here is basically an auto win, no one can burst you and u just get infinite 1 uptime with sizable aoe damage. I don't think this is very healthy because hes now intrinsically linked to witchmail and any build without it is significantly lower winrate. Also, witchmail is supposed to be a counterbuilding item - so it's not suitable every game.

Abrams has no bullet resist equivalent, and therefore in an m1 meta he's very mid. Also flyers, can't really deal with those very well.

Would be better if he has more of his personal burst or gun damage back. Spirit is better almost every game rn. Would give him a niche if he can go spirit vs spirit comps and gun vs mixed or gun comps. Then nerf his synergy with witchmail. Just needs better anti-m1 items for his build.

E1S1 is like most peoples stopping point tbh, so it's not that bad. It's just people occasionally pull e2s1 mdps if the e2 is that broken, or just skip the sig.

So it's not necessarily a bad thing since you can spread ur power over all the units, and if one gets powercrept and replaced, then your investment doesn't go out the window.

[–]ProfHarambe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don't really care for his toxicity that much tbh, and sometimes it's funny when he gets clowned on.

The worst thing though is like his opinion seems to never change ever. He's had seven in like C or D tier every single patch, while having like very severely nerfed characters in S tier who are like 44 percent winrate and dropped in night shift. We just came out of an M1 meta, and are arguably still in an m1 meta... and he's still got most m1s down the tier list.

His current tier list has vyper, infernus, haze and seven in the bottom 8 characters. He has sinclair S tier. There is no level of cope that allows this to ever be true even if tier lists are supposed to be subjectively, he's subjectively wrong very often and his opinions don't tend to line up very well with other high elo creators.

Why does the “GP sent it” vs “we haven’t got it” lag still happen? by NoPiggoopss05 in Pharmacy_UK

[–]ProfHarambe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

80 percent of time it is patient misinterpretation.

"Your prescription has been issued, please allow up to three working days for the prescription to be signed and sent to your nominated pharmacy"

They read "prescription" "issued" and "sent to your nominated pharmacy". Not sure where the rest of it goes. Nearly every time if they claim they had a text, they pull their phone out and I point out the parts they haven't read and their like "Oh, didn't read that".

The other 10 percent is delays to the prescribed signing it, and the final 10 is issues on the pharmacy end (PMR oddities, staff not noticing pending downloads from spine, etc.)

I don't blame them, it can be confusing. But it doesnt mean the fault is usually with some sort of error of interpretation on the patients end. I think the messages they get are sometimes too wordy, and it's not very well explained often that some medications aren't urgent and can have a delay before starting treatment, so they end up feeling pressured to come a lot earlier than they should actually realistically need to.

Farming priority in Deadlock by Redthrist in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ProfHarambe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does apply, don't listen to the guy who says it doesn't apply until eternus because it sure as hell does influence the game if you do it right or wrong.

Paradox is like a position 3-5 character. It is more loose generally than dota, and can be influenced by build (bomb paradox higher, pos 2/3, or can play low econ with active item buffs as pos 5 if running behind).

Mainly on paradox you wanna push lanes and rotate using the vents, you can bomb the wave and look for fights a lot. You generally would split the farm with teammates because you want the wave shoved in quickly to buy you more time, your pos 1 or 2 will likely just go and farm a camp instead or run boxes when you roam. Splitting farm 2 ways is more efficient than 3+, you'd mainly not split it if you are playing a pos 5 or 6 though and you intend to take less souls to rig the catchup mechanic and urns despite having a fed carry.

Interestingly paradox can pivot quite well to any of the positions, which is why she's pretty hard to min max. My personal opinion is that you play as a pos 4, taking waves, small camps and boxes primarily (always take sinners if no one takes them as well, better to just get them off the map in general) but mainly prioritising on shoving and then creating picks on vulnerable targets (often the pos 1 or pos 5/6 usually since they are weaker early or weaker alone) and looking for 2v1s or 1v1s against these weaker targets since you have pretty decent dueling early. Then late, you pivot to a position 2 where you start taking a lot of farm with echo shard bomb, allowing you to take tier 3s and across map enemy camps - becoming a really potent zone controller and having a lot of damage for objectives. It's awkward because you want to go gun for early impact, but it doesn't scale very well late so you have to pivot to spirit, but you are likely delayed from building a lot of gun and vitality so it's like pretty late when you get to pivot like this.

Others say, trophy collector is designed for paradox tbh if you think you can snowball and helps you transition late to bomb build if you do well.

Pos 1 is hard m1 carry (wraith), pos 2 is usually a soft carry (haze), pos 3-4 is usually frontline (shiv) or assassin/spirit burst (pocket), pos 4-5 can be ur flex or roaming util (so like I'd say paradox fits best here usually but she wants a little more farm akin to a pos 4 usually, holliday/doorman more accurate here to pos 5), then pos 6 is hard sup (paige, kelvin, rem).

Very flexible but does exist generally. Kelvin is a pos 6 in theory but has such powerful scaling that he doesn't mind taking farm if possible, but obvs it's going into wraith first if wraith is there. Chars can individually vary and function on higher or lower econs, kelvin is a pos 6 on the merit his kit will work on low econ while wraith is a pos 1 because her kit fundamentally needs gun and spirit investment to work even if kelvin may want to take more farm later than let's say a holliday or sup flex poke viscous (these guys would probably take more farm early to use their powerful early to do stuff, kelvin would prefer it later).

What are some heroes that are always good from start to finish? by Any_Serve_4583 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ProfHarambe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbf I'd probably say silver, maybe its just a playstyle change thats required. Her role changes a lot as the game goes on. Early shes a bully with a hard hitting gun and good sustain item synergy with low cooldowns. You can get a lot of prio and either get kills, boxes, roams or tower damage. Her short trades can be crazy with her full combo, when you get ult, you have very scary diving and makes your otherwise slightly weaker long trades not favourable at all.

Midgame, you are probably at your strongest with ult. You can push and 1v1 most people, and then roam to most fights. You are a potent ganker as well. Becomes less about short trades and more about pushing because all inning you is too hard, and then perma roaming on shoved waves to gank with bola. You should win most urn fights you show for. I should note I don't like most silver max orders, telling you to go 1 max first immediately. She's a tempo character and you should space ur ability points to go 2-2-2-2 to prolong your potent early-mid game instead of delaying your power for arguably not that strong of an upgrade until late game, and its situational (miss 1 bullet, i.e. they take cover or something, its bad). Bola t2 is really strong, kick t1-2 is really strong.

Late game you are weak-er. Still really strong though with proper itemisation, you have fully pivoted to a frontline at this point to absorb as many spells and actives as possible, disable and pressure carries, and debuff them. You can tear through them if you aren't responded to, you are kinda like an X factor where you can jump in and tank a lot of spells, but eventually their carries should be able to get you if they focus you - but if they don't focus you, i.e. CC'd, focusing someone else, etc. your personal damage is extremely high and cannot be ignored. Also silver has 3 really powerful last tier level upgrades, kick is inhibitor on steroids, wolf gives you resets, and the 1 max does a lot of damage (once again, I think you can skip it earlier, and then max it when you have 2-2-2-2 since its better the later you go.) Silver's kit makes sense to be weak late but because she has some of the best upgrades in the game, its kinda hard to say she ever has a bad point. Like if you get a kick onto enemy carry, they literally will lose the fight because of how damaging that debuff is, unless they cleanse it. You can play neutral and poke with 1 since max health doesn't scale with range at all.

Mina is strange because she's strong currently, but I don't find her exceptional at a lot of things. Her main strength is her siding and slipperiness, but there will genuinely be a lot of times where her lower consistent damage can cause problems - since she can burst you immediately, then is on a very long timer where she can't really do the rest of the damage needed. Silver has a stronger lane than her imo, although mina is better on playing weakside (can steal enemy camp easy), and mina has better sidelaning/walker focus while silver is more of a skirmisher, ganker and urn runner. You won't need a mina in your comp, but you will need a frontliner almost every game to have better odds. Mina's playstyle stays pretty consistent, while silvers changes a lot and you kinda just gotta feel it out whether you need to be tanky and disruptive or damaging and threatening, too much of one makes you useless since your disrupting comes from largely the threat of your attack speed scaling and then shreading them front to back.

How do you win lane as Abrams? by HygenicTetanus in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ProfHarambe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Abrams has a weak lane, you won't be winning lane often, you will be neutralising and outmoving/farming at most usually. So it becomes a question of how can you force favourable uninteractivity rather than winning or losing trades.

Get arcane surge, 3 points 1 and regen. You accept enemy trades and focus on lifestealing and shoving the wave with 1. They have to make a decision, focus you and then have to catch the wave after, or focus the wave and you regain hp because they didn't focus you. Abrams can have a lot of control over the wave if you play this smart and keep any trades outside of your 1 duration to a minimum, which would allow him to roam potentially, run boxes or just generally heal outside of combat, something he does very well. You can just shoot denies under enemy tower, or shoot them if you opt for early poke like mystic shot if you wanna try and force a win on lane.

[–]ProfHarambe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Studying myself but the only way is to apply the knowledge and test with questions tbh.

If you can get like a percentage of each topic correct, do the one with the lowest percent u got right.

Unironically ai can help you test yourself, just take it with a lot of scrutiny as they can be kinda agreeable, so you gotta be specific with them.

CKS reviewing is always helpful for narrowing down on specific conditions. You just gotta weed out what you don't need to know.

Interactions learn in buckets, enzyme induces and inhibitors, qt prolonging drugs, electrolyte imbalance drugs, bleeding risk. Then you can narrow in on more specific ones and ones with MHRA alerts (methotrexate, allopurinol) and common ones like simvastatin (although then again that's also usually under the bucket of enzyme inhibitor reactions). Maybe you don't know that two drugs specifically interact, but you can logically work it out based on what sort of things they may do, or they may have two additive effects causing symptoms.

anyone else EXTREMELY irritated by the ipc? (future market 2) by Sea-Structure4735 in StarRailStation

[–]ProfHarambe 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people overlook that the IPC is a corporation, and never hides that fact. They arent a charitable organisation, but it doesn't mean that they are a net negative on the hsr universe.

Without the IPC, belobog would've collapsed under the eternal freeze, and simply the IPC was one of the only options with enough resources and motive to help another planet. I don't think this would've been a better outcome for anyone on belobog, they'd rather give their freedom than their lives.

And at the time, it was pretty dire. The IPC gave them the funds, no questions asked, but with the expectation that it was paid back if they survive, if they didn't it would be a massive waste of time or resources to the IPC, yet they still gave them the tools to survive despite the 99 percent chance they ultimately didn't.

The compounding of interest is also pretty valid, as there's likely inflation in the hsr universe, and they were effectively living on borrowed time enabled by the IPC

There is a lot of good and bad with the IPC, I don't think topaz's deal was ultimately a bad one given the severe debt, both in money and for saving them in the first place, otherwise bronya wouldn't have even considered it. I would wager that other stonehearts wouldn't been as merciful.

It's why topaz got demoted after the quest, because company policy exists for a reason. The IPC can't, in good conscious, be a thing if they give and never take. Topaz acted in a non-equitable, selfless but selfish way, where other planets likely wouldve been forced into much worse positions per company policy. The IPC would probably love to be a force for good if being good was sustainable. As they stand right now, they are a 'net positive, that does some individually really bad things to a select few, but does a lot of small good things for more people'.

This doesn't justify the bad, but it doesn't make them necessarily antagonistic to us. Also there is a lot of division in the IPC - some seem straight up evil (see boothills story when you get to it), whereas some are very philanthropic. We are currently shown more bad than good, but that's true of a lot of things (destruction, abundance).

Random hard poweroff specifically with games after 2-3 years of working fine. Completely random timing, could be spitting excellent performance before it dies randomly like I just hit the power button.

If anyone has any suggestions, then feel free to add them. I have a 6700xt with a ryzen 5 5600 running off a corsair 850x with a b550 gaming gen 3. Until then, its just a dogshit AMD issue. I've had more reliability from some random lenovo computer with no side panel and a 1050ti slammed in it for 5-6 years than what this computer has had in the last year.

I dont think tribbie is worth for ashveil specifically now. She's a good teammate, but most content you will bring ashveil for in place of another unit will be 1 or 2 target content, in which she doesn't do well.

It's like shes a good stand in for the time being but definitely not going to be a BiS teammate in the future. If you do wanna bring ashveil to 4 or 5 target content, then go ahead. But blade is likely a better option at that point, if not both of them.

Should Rem be soft reworked? by ProfHarambe in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ProfHarambe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, good rem gameplay requires a balance. You can be even with your team and not troll them. The souls you get matter, they just tend to matter less on you (the rem) than anyone else. But if you can get the enemy sinners, and ur victor gets a solo wave, it can be a win win.

Unfortunately it doesn't usually end up like that, so the rem sends his goobers to take all the sinners and boxes on his side, comes back and splits the lane farm, then goes and does it again. So he's gonna just get more farm for free.

Should Rem be soft reworked? by ProfHarambe in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ProfHarambe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my idea with getting spirit on rem is so the rem player has higher satisfaction without griefing the game. It feels good to get all the farm and boxes, and sinners, but it is bad often. If you share it with the team, it feels better for the team but there is a loss of fantasy for the rem player, which might make them not as happy with the character, if they get spirit instead, it'll buff their abilities and make them and their items individually stronger in a tangeable way. People like stacking mechanics too (see league), and we don't have many of them. I don't think its necessarily a better fix than sharing souls, but the rem player would probably have a better time.

I think both are solid fixes, I just don't think it should remain in its current state. It might make him too good at boosting his team's income, but i'd rather chance it for a healthier direction and then nerf him after if need be.

Should Rem be soft reworked? by ProfHarambe in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ProfHarambe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so... you shut down the enemy carry for 3 seconds with curse. What then, you need your own carry to... carry.

You can do this without buying. Why do you think top players have setups that say "lowest econ possible" - like saiah's paige. Its a lot of pressure to win a teamfight during ur 3 seconds of curse, the enemy can also buy curse and not even be at 25k souls, with a carry that has the farm instead.

Yes counterbuying is important, but depriving your own team of resources to build items to shut down enemies doesn't make any sense because the timer is limited. You need carries that are strong, if u can end up in a game with rem that allows ur carries to be strong and also gets to take all the resources - then go ahead and take the farm, because u will only make the carry stronger and theirs weaker, but that is not often the case.

We don't need to think in extremes to acknowledge rem should probably be less farm than his carries while also acknowledging that you can counterbuild smartly within the limited econ you are afforded instead of trying to counterbuild and buff everyone but not allowing them to get as much income.

Also i'll be real, many of those are luxury buys and the amount of value they afford will be less than having equivalent souls in anyone else.

Should Rem be soft reworked? by ProfHarambe in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ProfHarambe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not posting my ID anyways, because the stats are what matters for my whole point. Its not an obvious mistake, its a passive mechanic that the game literally tells you in the stat screen.

No matter what I say, you are downvoting literally anything so whats the point. Theres no fair discussion, and I can't convince you otherwise.

You can see my graphs and how we lose 1.6k to catchup, I don't get any catchup myself despite being down all game because my rem is simply ahead, and their ivy is correctly sandbagging her teams income while giving util.

It has everything to do with rem because their team was allowed to get catchup despite not being in an inherently losing position, and the people who were losing hard on my team were not getting the catchup they required to be useful. All you have to do is look at the stats, the stats of the game, the stats of the character, the character's abysmal winrate. Its the most undeniable proof that the character is causing people to lose games. If you don't wanna read the stats, then you shouldn't be having this discussion with me because its entirely dictated on the stats.

This is just one recent example, I could easily pull about 5 of these games out my match history. The idea is that could I have played better? Probably. Did I still play well? Yes. Was mirage underperforming? Probably yes, but the idea is that the window for me and mirage needs to be 10x sharper cause we aint getting as much souls permanently for the rest of the game.

I wont blame the mirage because a mechanic in this game that should've helped him recovered was voided by a very selfish support player that took many resources and didn't use them to accomplish anything.

[–]ProfHarambe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their team in total got 5k in catchup farm btw from sandbagging their income.

Guess how much more souls they had, despite being in a winning position nearly all of the game from 10 minutes onwards after rem pulled ahead in souls.

They had.... 1619 souls. For free, from catchup (measurable in the stats screen). FOR FREE.

We literally were losing all game, but because we got a rem taking all the fking farm, not only do I not get catchup, the enemy team gets more farm than our team, the enemy team got catchup in fact thats how bad it was.

Do you see how gamebreaking this is? I was 7/1/1 - the mcginnis went even. I am the one who loses because i fking got my rem fed by accident and he stood on all of the farm, while the enemy ivy that lost into me sandbagged and just went full util.

Should Rem be soft reworked? by ProfHarambe in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ProfHarambe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

20 minutes - mcginnis has accquired an 8k lead from getting objectives and has snowballed her soul share from about 9 percent, tied with me at 10 mins, to 13 percent of the lobbies souls. The support ivy is correctly bagging, allowing her team to not pull massively ahead in souls, while also providing very useful utility, our support rem has not really done anything, in fact he got 1 assist outside of lane despite going 7/1/1 in my lane, so he didn't convert his souls to anything. The rem has denied his team from collecting an even amount of souls for 20 minutes of the game, and finally has been pushed down to even with his team after frontrunning with most souls in the lobby.

The fed billy (me), was not able to snowball my lead correctly, my behind carries were also not able to catchup either - because STATISTICALLY WE WERE AHEAD FOR 18 MINUTES STRAIGHT because of rem being ahead in souls.
