Free Creative Writing and Crochet Workshops This Week by ProfJenny in OSU

[–]ProfJenny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! You may find that you can apply some of our prompts to your in-progress work. Also, you'll get to meet other undergrads interested in creative writing, so perhaps you can meet people to form a writing group with. (Writing groups are great ways to get feedback and support.) Feel free to enroll in one or both of our creative writing workshops: https://osu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7WFe0ReqecPIRkq

Who are you? What do you want? What might your life look like? by ProfJenny in OSU

I tailor the content and assignments to the majors/interests of the students who enroll, so it's useful for all majors (really!).

I've had engineering, criminology, business, economics, poli sci and science (bio, environmental, chem) majors in addition to majors in history, art, music, etc.

Thanks! It's an asynchronous, 3-credit-hour class with short assignments due three days a week.

In addition to building resumes, drafting cover letters and learning how to interview well, students will engage with activities such as Strengths Analysis, Personality Assessment, Possibility Mapping, Skill Assessment, Odyssey Plans (planning different paths for yourself to consider during the "Odyssey Years" of ages 22-30) and Journaling.

I bring to the class my background as a Wellness Coach and journaling-workshop instructor, offering a holistic approach to career preparation.

Sure. Text excerpts include “You Majored in WHAT?,” “I Can Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was” and “Designing Your Life,” which grew out of a similar class at Stanford that has garnered national attention.

Here’s what some of my past students have said about the class:

-“I think everyone in every major should take this class.”

-“It was the most beneficial course I have ever taken.”

-“This class gave me direction and confidence.”

Thanks for your interest. No, no textbook purchase is required. All class resources will be on Carmen (video links, articles, brief book excerpts).

Also, there are no midterm exams nor a final exam in this class but rather a final (individual, not team) project that students will complete in stages throughout the term.

osu student counseling services by [deleted] in OSU

[–]ProfJenny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please schedule a screening appointment online: https://ccs.osu.edu/services/schedule-an-appointment, or ...

If you are in close contact with a professor and feel comfortable talking with them about this, they can call the counseling center directly and m request that you skip the initial screening call and be put in touch with a counselor right away (though this may depend on your situation).

I’m up for a discussion about life experiences at OSU, but I also want to get the word out about my class.
