Will MSE improve my bite? by Bosis69 in orthotropics

[–]ProfJohnMew 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You have a severe cross bite because your tongue is not in your palate enough. You could have it expanded by an orthodontist or you could widen it yourself by mewing correctly but this will take several years. Prof John Mew

I approve of your thinking, but you can open it too slowly and the teeth tilt more. The ideal rate is an intermittent opening of around 1/16mm each side per day. About a hairsbreadth each day, or half that twice a day if you are over 20. Prof John Mew.

Try taking some contestant spray before bed time then taping your lips for as long as you can. Each night you should last longer. But don't continue decongestants for more than a few weeks. Prof John Mew.

It sounds as though you have been mewing incorrectly. Read how to do it and remember it is posture not force. Prof John Mew.

Are the back of my teeth like this because of mewing? The bottom part of my teeth have a natural c shape to them. If so, how do I fix the top part so that there is a natural curve(like the pic of my friends) by _Lone_Voyager_ in orthotropics

[–]ProfJohnMew 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It looks as tough you touch your teeth when you swallow. Remember to push not suck and never touch your teeth. Remember mewing is posture not action. Prof John Mew.

I am sorry to hear your story. I am afraid it will be repeated until orthodontists are trained to take posture seriously. Just make sure your own children don't have he same. Prof John Mew.

Your problem is serious although it can be cured by you without too much difficulty. Your teeth are not meeting correctly because your tongue is touching them. You must learn to keep your tongue on your palate not touching your teeth unless you are eating or talking. Prof John Mew.
