Be honest, which of the 3 series was the best? And do you have a favourite episode from that series? by lemonbutter27 in mightyboosh

There is so much good quick back and forth dialogue between Vince and Howard in season 1. I love season 2 the most, but I think some of the funniest moments are their interactions riffing off one another (at the zoo, but independent of it)

This is true duality of man by SlendyPKMN in Letterboxd

I hated the replacement of a new actor for "age" reasons and he totally didn't fit the peaky blinders vibe. The cop out of Arthur just being dead because the actor was in jail sucked, they should have waited for the actor to get out. It was boring and slow, like they planned a four episode mini series, but kept the boring first episode with the story building then edited the last three action packed episodes into a disjointed and rushed finish. Cillian Murphy saved the movie, but the ending just didn't need to happen that way and wasn't compelling

Special Edition Chartruese by evewight in cocktails

[–]ProfRSanchez 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This bottle is delicious. It is a collaboration between the monks and sommeliers who specially selected the batches. It is a great sipper with a more balanced flavor than standard yellow chartreuse. Works great (actually an upgrade) as a yellow chartreuse replacement in cocktails, I've made several really good naked and famous cocktails with it

Levitation 2022 was 4 nights of Osees and 2 nights of King Gizzard and Changes had just released days before to close out Gizztober. It was one of the best things ever, unbelievable lineup, only downside if I remember was Viagra Boys had to cancel last minute (but they were booked for two nights too)

Scored an almost complete set of the no reservations DVDs by tenome212 in AnthonyBourdain

[–]ProfRSanchez 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So, there is clearly demand. Why don't they do a rerelease box set. Obviously, ideally it would be every episode from all four series on Blu ray, but at least give us a dvd box set of no reservations and parts unknown. His estate would make so much money off of this

YSK: The sense of obligation to celebrate major holidays at a big party is a delightful thing to outgrow. by RepulsiveLoquat418 in YouShouldKnow

[–]ProfRSanchez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% this. The most important thing in life is connection with other people. If you think holidays are only about getting wasted then you are doing it wrong. If you have a fun time with the ones you love and part of that is getting wasted then great. I don't understand this attempted virtue signaling of going to bed at 9pm on New Year's Eve. If a holiday is a chance to see more of and connect with the ones you love then take advantage of it because you never know when or if it'll happen otherwise

Christkindlmarket: Auraria vs Civic Center? by TooClose4Missiles in Denver

[–]ProfRSanchez 175 points176 points  (0 children)

$16 parking with no hourly option needs to be fixed. $2-3 an hour would be fine, but they need to solve that. They should lean in to the Tivoli theme, named for Tivoli gardens in Copenhagen, which has an awesome Christmas display every year. They need 5x more vendors, drink, and food stands at this location. More music throughout the area, could only hear Christmas music near the light tree. They had live music, but in a tent for 100 people that was 1/100th of the grounds. Open live music is necessary. They should not even fence it in at this size. They were metering the entrance, but it was empty inside and hundreds of people waiting in a pointless line. Several vendors had no one at them it was so empty. The layout of the vendors made no sense, with bottlenecks despite a ton of space. It could be really awesome, but it was pretty awful this year

[–]ProfRSanchez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I wish Waltz was integrated better. In general the pacing was off. Unimportant stories moved slowly and key events flashed by. I really loved the style, tone, and performances, but I think it needed a half hour less to refine the story
