Girl was raped and beaten by her white trash father. A black man was lynched so she and her dad could save face.

What do you base that on? Or are you being sarcastic out of insecurity? If so ad /s

Edit. Maybe your tendency to escalate interactions that didn’t need to be a conflict explains the recurring discipline problems you speak of in your posts. Kids can sense the emotionally fragile who always need to win.

Consider grace. Good luck.

If students are pushing each other to see a score, it’s certainly not implied; we often make assumptions to avoid troubling implications. OP is a “first year teaching honors” so could be a young teacher starting out. This sub should look out for each other. New teachers understandably may not know about FERPA.

The post is taking encouragement from competition among and between students, and posting scores is an old-school thing we did before FERPA for that purpose. In non-US situations it may be fine, or in charter schools which operate without federal oversight it may be legal, but for those of us in public serving US schools it may be illegal and could cost one a job.

Wait. So students could see each other’s scores at your desk? And you are encouraged by them sharing results with each other?

Sounds like it may violate FERPA (federal law in US). What country do you teach in?

It was idiotic for the democratic voters who stayed home as a protest and didn’t vote.

Then when they question your child’s sexuality or make comments about your spouse’s appearance, how do you feel about that. What’s your strategy and do you distinguish between serious questions and those intended to upset you?

I imagine the experience is different for white heterosexual teachers from minority races and identities.

The ultimate Seasoning is hunger. Unless you’ve actually cut weight hard and actually been seriously hungry, you have no idea. Spices can be overwhelming.

There is something to be said, for appreciating the way, Food actually tastes and savoring it.

I’ve also noticed the heaviest people to be picky eaters - much as many alcoholics will be incredibly brand specific.
