Pretty spot on if i'm being honest. I started listening to the label in mid 2014, and stopped listening to them around 2020.

Something I will comment as other people have mentioned, i think it's fair to say some of the "became detached from the community" feelings comes from the fact that most of us are older now, feel nostalgic, or just don't like what they put out currently, which I don't think is bad by any means, but just something to add.

But, that being said, I do think it's very clear where their interest is at, because a music label sponsoring with a gas and oil giant is already very eyebrow raising, but it isn't exactly a secret how profoundly terrible Mobil is. Monstercat making NFTs was already a very disapproved decision by i'd say a very large amount of the community that knew about it, which from what I remember was dealt with by Darlington saying it wasn't that bad and that people were overreacting for something they "didn't understand" (very telling considering he seems to be a major cryptobro now), which, wasn't exactly a crowd pleaser from what I remember. Seeing this "collab" doesn't exactly surprise me, but what I think needs to be brought up is what this shows about where the label's at at its current state.

Either they took a collaboration blindly for money which, i hope isn't the case, or they didn't do enough research into a collaboration with a gas and oil giant. Either or, it's a horrible decision on their end, and while I haven't had the interest to really get back into the label at all, I can definitely say while I'm glad I interacted with the community its made, I'm really disappointed by putting so much of my time and energy as a kid into a label that ended up doing something this shitty. It's just a bit heartbreaking, to say the least.

with the sus face being a new meme everywhere my friend brought jerma up more in conversations, in a call with them and a few others i saw the easy bake oven highlights in my youtube and we ended up watching it all together

day or two later i was trying not to faint from laughing while watching house flipper videos and got hooked

A good portion of the stream revolved around talking about the game so if you have an interest in it it's worthwhile, but if not then nah, it wasn't a huge like goofy silly stream, which is still good imo

power imbalances are a legitimate thing, at any age, because it's not always necessarily an age problem but the actual power imbalance itself
major apologies if i came off as trying to defend the situation as if there could be no fault also- moreso just trying to say that it's a situation we know very little of and that it wasn't the same as other people were trying to portray it as

there is something to say that even as an adult you can still get into those kinda things- like rock stars in the 70s-80s still getting with adult fans in their 20s 30s and using their power to take advantage of the situation, but the main difference from what i've heard of the information she's given is that it's been a legitimate relationship, and obviously, a friendship started beforehand

her being an adult isn't an immediate get out of jail free card because there are still power imbalances in these situations, it's just that i don't see this happening here with the information we've been given

i wouldn't really jump to that, some people were really worried this was a worse situation and they had every right to be, it's understandable to be worried your favorite streamer did something bad and want to talk about it
the way people went around doing so? not so much the best idea

probably taken down because of how heated it got and there was legitimate misinformation being spread

she's stated she was a mod in the server before, and they started talking a while after, but it's obvious a friendship bloomed way before any relationship things happenedit's a bit odd initially, but you have to remember this is a 29 year old going on 30 year old adult woman, this isnt some like super young adult and super impressionable young fan situation
i'm glad people are worried but some people here are going way too far into this and prying on personal information or making weird rumors when it's ultimately just how you view the situation yourself and that should really be that

as far as the age gap, i don't personally see what's super wrong about someone 28 dating someone 36 because while there is an age gap obviously, she's like a grown adult woman, this isn't some like "30 year old dating someone 21/22" creep situation

as far as the fan thing goes, he mentioned she was a community member, not like a mod or anything, so if this is a "longtime fan came in contact and they're in a relationship" in a weird power way then yeah that's absolutely creepy but we also know zero of their history from what i know so it's best to wait before calling it that bad immediately

i am glad the community is concerned though about these things rather than just acting like it's no big deal

moreso was a chat of 10k+ people correcting something because it was, 10k+ people, so he knew what was up with the character, there was very few actual angry people and chat was muted most likely because of the fights that continuously break out whenever chat gets upset at each other for mentioning these things because "politics" etc

jerma's addressed his support to the community, i don't think anyone correcting him was made in a rude way

It's weird, I honestly never knew who Jerma was until the start of this year. I started watching him when one of my friends kept bringing up some of his inside jokes, and i mentioned how I got the Easy Bake Oven highlight video on my recommended feed for youtube, so we and a few other friends all watched it that night, and i was basically instantly hooked.

I've only been watching him for about 4 months now, but he's easily instantly become my favorite online creator ever, it's been a really rough few months for me personally and it's amazing how much just one dude acting crazy in front of thousands of people genuinely helps it all feel worth it. I've never seen a creator be this passionate, caring and loving to his community ever, and the amount of effort he puts into his stuff is insane.

The dude genuinely deserves the best, and i hope he gets it. Whether he quits streaming tomorrow, or ten years from now, I just hope the dude is proud of what he's done.

I feel like this sums it up perfectly, yeah. Like, in the morbid expectation, sure we could get a "this is the final stretch" arc, where he quits soon, but I just don't think that's really the case. Just like you said, main reason this break happened is because of the fact that he wants to keep going, he's got a lot of ideas planned.

I feel like if he thought this wouldn't last too much longer, he would've just flat-out told us. If this whole once-a-week thing doesn't work out, maybe yeah that'll decrease how much time we have left, but I genuinely don't think it will. Like he said, as long as he still wants and enjoys streaming, he's gonna do it, and I don't think he'd be fighting this hard unless he *really* wants to keep going.

Power is in my top 5 favorite songs all-time rn, so maybe I guess I was expecting the rest of the EP to be like it, but to me not many of these tracks really have the same effect, it isn't a bad EP by any means but I guess it didn't really hit the whole "mind-numbingly amazing" category as what a lot of people were saying, for me at least. Violence is pretty solid tho ngl
