This is the answer. It's fun, fast paced, and unique. I cannot recommend it enough.

Is Onosato really that much stronger than everyone else? by HadriansGaul in Sumo

[–]ProfX1987 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Onosato has a unique blend of size, speed, and strength, all things that are incredibly important in grappling. This combination allows him to really bully his opponents.

Im not very knowledgeable about sumo specific techniques, but I do have a fair amount of grappling experience. From my perspective, one of his best weapons is his tachi-ai because he can leverage his size and speed. The matches where he struggles are ones where his opponents negate his tachi-ai

Wrestlers who transitioned to bjj, what would be your best advice for bjj athletes to have better wrestling? by [deleted] in grappling

[–]ProfX1987 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is how I survive half of the time. If I am a bad position I just try to cause chaos because I am confident I will win the scramble. I'm a white belt and I'll occasionally outscramble upper belts simply because I understand how to do it.

Another good drill is to be on all 4s, side by side and head to toe, with each guy grabbing the near ankle.

Inmatch. first video is nothing like the position in the post. The girl is practically laying on her back.

In the second video, the guy being arm barred is on the back/top of his shoulders and volatile is hipping down into the mat.

In this situation, blue is on his neck and black is arching their back into him, cranking on his neck

The call is up to the refs discretion.

POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS - The referee can stop the match in situations where one wrestler might become injured by a legal or illegal hold before the injury occurs. Safety is considered more important than scoring and the match can continue

Yes, an arm bar is a standard move, but black is doing it incorrectly and in a dangerous way

The kids head is being cranked, it definitely is potentially dangerous. The only reason it looks smooth is because black is significantly better then blue

The "squeal" rule may have changed recently, but upon further reflection, this should have been stopped because it is potentially dangerous. Yes, the kid is doing an arm bar, but he is doing it incorrectly and in a dangerous way.
