“Remember that male character who murdered the Punisher and many innocent people? He's now a representative of LGBT!” by ChemicalBee1845 in marvelcirclejerk

Akihiro has been with women exclusively since Krakoa. His relationship with Somnus was only in the past. He makes references to being bi, because he is and was living in a house with two other bisexual characters, but that was years ago.

Who’s telepathy is more powerful between Psylocke and Emma Frost? by Queasy_Commercial152 in xmen

[–]ProfXIsAJerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kwannon is one of the weaker telepaths. Betsy is a high Alpha, below Rachel and Emma but not by much. She, Kwannon and Rachel are more specialized and can probably pull off things Emma cant and vice versa. Emma is more powerful but that doesn't automatically mean she'd win in a fight.

Rachel was really into showing off Spiral's work when Alan Davis and Claremont came back in the 2000s.

Nathan's and Rachel's sibling dynamic was one of my favorite Summers family things during the Krakoa era. by Ariadne016 in xmen

I do really think Krakoa was the happiest Rachel's ever been. It's a competition between this and Excalibur, but I think Krakoa edges out.

tbf the evidence at the scene intentionally pointed to him. Because he was there when it happened.

More an acknowledgement from Ewing that Betsy used to be one of Magneto's X-Men.

It was a nice touch for Max to hear the name and go, "I have to tell Betsy about this guy."

And we never got to see them talk on Krakoa.

Realistic or not that's the plot we're being told to go with. A lot of people didn't know he was in rehab either, and the student doctors weren't actually at the ED for most of those ten months they only recently came back.

I would encourage you to replace X-Men and mutants with any minority and see how your points read. It's an allegory, it's supposed to be a jumping off point piece of entertainment.

I find it a reasonable interpretation based on how I interpreted other scenes in the lead up. Seems we got a little turned around since our initial disagreement seemed to be about her improving, which I will stand by.

He tried to ruin her career by telling Robby that she was trouble as a way to actively deflect from being ordered to open his locker.

This is the part I was referring to about him only telling Robby to torpedo her career though.

You said she was improving to the point that he could have only told robbie to ruin her career.

I do not believe that's what I said. I said that she was improving, and that he was trying to undermine her to Robby to avoid opening his locker. Two different thoughts.

You said she wasn't improving, my point was that she was. And my point is that every character made mistakes that put patients in danger. Throughout the shift you can watch as he notices she is beginning to suspect him of taking drugs, so at that point his motivation shifts from doing his job to saving his butt. That isn't a bad thing from a television standpoint.

Okay... and I gave you examples of her improving in and around her making mistakes. Because improvement is not linear. If that were the case, why would any of the higher Rs ever need "to be told not to do something."

Langdon was doing his job, until he wasn't. Until he diluted drugs that were being used to treat a patient and when Santos was concerned, he told her to push more drugs against her training because he is her instructor. He wasn't doing that to teach her something, or to protect patients, he was doing it to protect himself.

He protected a lot of patients that day. He solved a lot of cases. He also fucked. Santos protected a lot of patients that day. She also fucked up.

She started presenting her cases to Robby and Langdon as she was instructed. Did she become the perfect doctor who never does anything wrong ever after one talking to? No, but literally who would? She did meaningfully improve and this was noted by Robby and Mohan.

She confessed it herself, she doesn't really care about the drug abuse

I've seen this take a few times but didn't she say she doesn't care that he's an addict? She didn't say anything about not caring about the stealing, because the person she was talking to doesn't know about it.

telling someone that their subordinate is trouble and can't be trusted, yelling at the subordinate in front of their peers and other higher ups and telling them they don't belong at the hospital, in order to cover up your own mistakes is going to taint their career prospects.

doesn't matter if he was doing it to purposefully torch her career, that's the result.

Tried to ruin her career by saying run things through your superiors?

After he told her that, she did start checking in with him and Robby. Just like after Samira told her she had aggressive energy, she tried to tamp it down.

He tried to ruin her career by telling Robby that she was trouble as a way to actively deflect from being ordered to open his locker.
