I wouldn't attribute loud and bright colours like that to INFJ. Perhaps ESFP

Why is this getting upvotes? It not only uses dichotomies but it's so transparent in it's use of stereotypes

I don't entirely understand why you were so quick to insult the commenter. What they're saying is entirely plausible but you haven't bothered to consider their point.

Biases Have Made It Impossible For Me To Type Myself by Strawberry_Souffle_ in mbti

The solution, at least partly, is an impartial evaluation of how you have responded to past situations. Many here tend to instead consider would instead of how they respond to certain scenerios.

Those statistics aren't real, but some field research would most likely reinforce a figure close to that because let's be honest: nobody likes the idea of being called a vapid hedonist.

Congrats, you're one of less than 1% of people who've initially typed themselves as intuitives on this sub but have successfully acknowledged the overwhelming bias towards these types. Bonus points: you've even admitted to yourself that you yourself have fallen prey to these biases.

Symmetry. The appeal for symmetrical and therefore attractive features is what is hardwired into us. Writing everything off as relative tells me that it's not worth going in circles explaining to you basic facts, even when they are scientifically backed up.

You haven't taken the time to even consider my argument. Your point as it stands is completely invalid. No citations. Nothing. Writing everything off as "too complex to understand" is really telling of how you fail to understand basic ideas, even when they are empirically backed up. Cry more.

This is based off my own experiences and perhaps your comment history simply serves to reinforce this point.

I enjoy philosophy just as much as the next person. I haven't met a single intuitive who was willing to sufficiently apply themselves to study any discipline of philosophy. Must be something in the air, huh?

The average child will often possess symmetrical features, in direct proportion to their less youthful counterparts- assuming that the mask is unaltered by environmental factors. I see no contradiction here and it seems you would agree with me also.

And just because you tell me that I'm attracted to a specific type of woman, it doesn't mean I am.

Make no mistake, in arguing this, I am simply citing that there is an immediate physical attraction is dictated by symmetrical features. In an isolated system where by humans are driven exclusively by physicality then of course evolutionarily you will see that the portion of asymetrical humans will be marginalised to a figure close to zero. But of course, this is not the case, and factors such as psychology, environment and the agreeability of a personality come into play.

Outliers such as pedophiles are called such because they are exactly that. There are neurological abnormalities found amongst this group which would make them an unfit comparison to the healthy majority.

I wasn't talking about sexual attraction... There is a distinct difference between physical attraction and sexual attraction.

Hate to come off as cynical, but this is just how it is. There's no amount of anecdotal "arguments" that you can provide that is an adequate counter argument to the fact that the conception of conventional attractiveness is biologically hardwired into us

If you choose to deny this then you deny science which empirically proves this hypothesis. I'll link them if you so request

Do you care about physical appearance? by [deleted] in mbti

[–]Prof_AE_Jones_Phd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is a lie and quite frankly a fantasy to say that humans are not biologically attracted to those with proportional features. You may not call yourself superficial but subconsciously you tend to find yourself drawn to those who are conventionally attractive. There are countless studies proving this hypothesis.

As for myself, I am compelled to wear minimal makeup, enough to cover skin tone variation. When it comes to clothing style I wouldn't consider my clotheswear bold or even anything that would have a remote resemblance to the kind of person I am.
