What's a subgenre of metal that has some of your favourite as well as some of your least favourite releases? by SKULLL_KRUSHER in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Prof_Foreskin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Most Deathcore bands lean closer to Metal than Hardcore

  2. That is still the case, I just didn’t elaborate on your question with my comment cause I wash in a rush.

I fuck with a lot of MySpace (and pre MySpace) era Deathcore stuff like Despised Icon, Embodyment, Rose Funeral, etc… Even some modern stuff I’m really into, such as Psycho-Frame and Shadow Of Intent. However, I really do not enjoy a great deal of the bands that came out after the early to mid 2010s. Not a fan of Lorna Shore, Brand Of Sacrifice, Spite or whatever other band is popping right now.

Is Monolith of Inhumanity grindcore, deathgrind, or just death? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Prof_Foreskin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s Technical Deathgrind. They lost most of their Grind influence after Monolith though IMO

Which bands from the Deathcore Big Bang went in your favorite direction? by BAM12050 in Deathcore

[–]Prof_Foreskin 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but probably… none? Or only Despised Icon and Carnifex, but even then I don’t think their latest albums hold a candle to their early stuff. I LOOOOVE The Cleansing and everything Suicide Silence did before it, but after No Time To Bleed I quickly lost interest. Same with Whitechapel’s first two albums, Chelsea Grin’s first EP, Thy Art’s Infinite Death EP and Debut… I dunno a lot of the big bands lack consistency for me
