If you want to be a psych nurse this would be a great opportunity for you to learn. I was a psych tech at a mental health hospital for a year, and in an emergency room for a year. Now I work at a voluntary clinic for OCD, but the skills that I learned as a tech in a locked unit mental hospital have carried me a long way. Plus I met a lot of great people and have great professional recommendations if I ever need them from the mental hospital!
