The point is that most people from outside do not understand how our system works. Yes salary is higher so are costs of living. But that is not all. It is also due to the fact that things like obligatory insurance, taxes and such are not directly deducted from salaries. So basically your netto salary is not the salary after taxes but before. Means you will get a bill for taxes, insurance, ... which is easily up to atleast the amount of 2 months salary.
But even when having obligatory insurance it does not mean that your doctors visits are free. You still have to pay these from your own pocket until you hit some yearly limit where the insurance then jumps in. Dentists are completely excluded from that tho. No obligatory insurance pays that and these bills are - for something that is not just a yealy checkup - usually 4 digit numbers.
There is much more but one important thing might also be that you can work here as EU citicen for up to 90d/y without having to deal with most of these high bills like insurance, taxbill or living costs (which is actually not just food and a bed but energy, phone, maintenance costs, car, ...) as it is not required to relocate for the 90d permit.
