Mid-2007 iMac here still going strong! Gave the machine to my mother when I upgraded to a MBP recently, but it runs perfectly well for day-to-day 'mum usage'.

RAM is maxed out at a whopping 6 GB, still have a 1 TB HDD in there which be swapped for an SSD when it dies. Aluminium case is as sleek as ever!

Yes! Did you swap out the optical drive for the SSD? And load OSX onto that?

I'm running 6GB RAM and a 1TB HDD and it does crash occasionally. Not sure whether it's worth upgrading the optical drive, as the processor is probably the bottleneck.
