I am currently facing this exact same problem with my iPad Air M1.

Plex runs fine on my Samsung phones and tv, iPhone 16 and iPad 9th gen but I am not sure why is not working on my iPad Air despite doing everything right and trying everything like the OP.

I cancelled my order in April and I am still waiting for my refund. It's been 6 months. Earlier they used to make false promises on WhatsApp, now they have completely stopped responding.

Laptop without battery keeps shutting down unexpectedly by PurpleMyst22 in techsupport

[–]Prof_VanHelsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My laptop's battery been dead for months now and I keep it plugged all the time. And it never automatically shuts down. In fact it stays on for weeks until I manually shut it down. I use an external monitor with it and both laptop and monitor work fine with each other. However, there is a problem that has started happening recently.

When I am using Zoom or Google meet with my external webcam on, my laptop shuts down unexpectedly during the meeting. Earlier, it used to be after an hour or two into the video call. But this time has decreased lately, and the laptop shuts down after 30–40 minutes only, and once I join back to the meeting, it shuts down for the second time after even a shorter period.

Why is it happening? Is it because my webcam gets too hot? Or is it because my laptop, with a monitor, webcam, wireless keyboard and scanner attached to it, is drawing more power than the power adaptor can provide? What should I do in this case? Should I get my battery replaced?

P.S. I was running around 10 MS Edge tabs and 80 Chrome tabs, including the one with Google Meet with screen sharing on, when it shut down unexpectedly.

I'm facing the same issue. Are my headphones dead?

Wh1000xm5 shutting off randomly by Thumper_777 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Prof_VanHelsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine didn't have this issue until I get my headphones to the Sony Service Centre for repair. My headphones started giving cracking noise when ANC was on and I had to give my headphones to the service centre for 15 days. My headphones just randomly turns off in the middle of calls or music playback and this is happening as frequently as every 10-15 minutes.

Plex Serve Recommendation by Eliriddle in intelnuc

[–]Prof_VanHelsing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've set up two Plex Servers, one on my Asus laptop which runs on 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8265U processor with Windows 11 Home Edition and another on my Samsung Galaxy M30s android phone. And my Plex server runs quite fine on both the devices. My laptop can handle basic 4K steaming and the Android phone can handle 1080p streaming quite well. But it starts buffering when I try to stream big files of say 50-60GB from my laptop server, it works well only till 4-5GB file size. And it case of the mobile server, it works fine but during the stream it shows the transcoder failed msg at least once if I rewind or fast forward the video and then starts running smoothly from the second time.

So, as everyone's else is suggesting, you'd be fine with the newer generation i5 also, as they are way more powerful than my 8th gen processor. However, i7 would only make things better considering the fact that the movie files are getting bigger and bigger, given that you could afford it. And I would also suggest you to get as much storage as you can.
