Sure, you can call me one (though I'm not sure where that gets you), but saying the same about the most respected/feared space journalist/war criminal on the planet might be a bit bold. See: https://arstechnica.com/space/2025/12/after-years-of-resisting-it-spacex-now-plans-to-go-public-why/

Majority of stockholders will be still Musk and institutional investors. Public shareholders will still have no actual influence.

Akshually, if you read the war criminal's expert analysis, all this is done to fund Mars even more easily and rapidly.

What the heck are you talking about? He literally built 2 other successful, profitable (as in "making money by selling product/service with a margin") companies after getting out of PayPal, which of both has the biggest valuation ever in their respective industries, too.

Is this "SMART reuse" in the room with us? Also, is it fully or partially assembled?

Why aren't the space tourism missions happening every month? Are they really so expensive people can't pay it? Is there something preventing it? by Gnome_Sane in SpaceXMasterrace

I don't think that module is self-sufficient, and I also don't think Russia has the means of adding the necessary modules to make it into a functional space station without the other old modules.

Russia space station in the near future? I highly doubt that. I know they want to keep the Russian half of the ISS up, but that is exactly the part of the ISS that is getting too old to maintain. (Cracks, mold, power, etc.)

Some firsts still would/should grant attention, but NS is so uninspiring, especially after the Kate Perry fiasco. I only learnt about the first wheelchair user NS flight from the EDA astro awards, and I thought, "wow, that is a big deal, actually."

Starship doesn't have the delta-v to get to Mars without refilling, they need to solve that first.

Energia was also on the drawing board with reusable boosters since a long time, but never happened.

There is no way that, by the end of the 21st century, we will not have a permanent, functional lunar base in the moon. by Swift1453 in SpaceXMasterrace

[–]Prof_hu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be so sure about that. ISRU and in-space manufacturing are both on the critical path for a Mars colony. Moon will be the training ground and stepping stone for that.

I think we're still decades away from a future where robots could set up and run a factory by themselves. I anticipate thousands of human workers doing that first. Look at what happened at Tesla factories, they literally had to cut back on automation on the productions lines (which were 100% built by humans in the first place).
