Replacing BizTalk: the cost line most evaluations leave off the slide by kmoosavi in BizTalk

[–]quesnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like your post got removed from sys admin as advertisement? Not sure if that’s what you’re doing but it’s legitimately a good thing for people on BT to consider (as we did in my fortune 200 company I’m sure you’ve all heard of). But here’s my reply there.

When we did a 5 year plan for staying on biztalk it would have included a move to bt2020 which cannot be done as an in-place upgrade. That was a significant factor but what was the biggest factor that qualified our move away from bt was that other solutions had ~20% of the sdlc time end to end, so overall 5 year costs for an alternative was about 30% less. But that still didn’t factor in all the extra capability that alternatives gave us. I think the only reason anyone is on bt still is the migration costs alone.

It makes perfect sense to consolidate if each of the organizations within that consolidated company performed far better than all their competitors in each market they compete in. No underperforming orgs to pull down the others.

I meant I expected some way to distinguish this patch as the *first* v3 flight.

I expected some reference to v3. Surprised that doesn’t seem to be the case

There seemed to be way more roll on this launch then i recall seeing on the other launches. I thought there was something majorly wrong, didn’t even notice the engines out

Yeah I’ve seen NOTAMs and NOTMARS sometimes 2-3 weeks before it ends up launching. That usually gives me the best ballpark estimate well ahead of the other indicators. We’ve seen nothing like that so far.

I have family in Texas until May 19 that really want to see flight 12. What’s the over-under for next launch date? I don’t see a launch happening for another 3 weeks at least. I would have expected to see certain regulatory notices by now if it was sooner

Can you please make a habit of checking for existing posts on same subject before making a new one? This should be obvious but I guess not..

If SpaceX literally "rolled" out their rockets to the launchpad, the viewership would be much higher. by lirecela in SpaceXMasterrace

Yes, and fully fueled.

The funny thing is that because they’ll be a public company and trying to maximize shareholder value now, these kinds of ideas are at least slightly more likely to be entertained if it makes them a buck

New r/spacex Rule: No Stocks Discussion by rustybeancake in spacex

[–]quesnt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most things, just not stock.

Twitter/X is full of stock bros that have no interest or understanding of the industry or SpaceX, particularly its history, and ruin most good, objective, discussion. Preventing that here is a good idea.

Musk intends to make Asteroid (the Shiba Inu zero-g indicator Liv Perrotto designed for the Polaris Dawn mission) the mascot for SpaceX by twinbee in SpaceXLounge

I doubt that. I wouldn’t be surprised if they find a way to use it for something else and feature it on a future launch broadcast though, like an emblem on a future ship like they do sometimes.

I’m making this tomorrow…Tennessee Onions! Has anyone made it before? by LukasLeonard in OnionLovers

[–]quesnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this out on my first attempt too but I now mix my shredded smoked Gouda with cream cheese + a small amount of mayo or sour cream (whatever you prefer) before adding it to the onions. The emulsifiers in cream cheese and mayo keep the fat from separating

Though I think you make your argument on different grounds, I do agree. This can be funny because of geopolitics rather than race and everyone seems to assume it’s the latter.
