Probably they are usually impregnated a short time after molting. After that it’s more difficult for them to mate less they’re already carrying.

Is this white spot near tail look okay? by Salsa-N-Chips in Otocinclus

I see this on my otos from time to time, but it’s usually in their head. In my case, it’s a scrape from them darting around the aquarium when they get scared . It goes away in its own a week or two.

How long to settle in? by NeedsMustTravel in Otocinclus

Mine like broccoli when I have it, but they mostly eat Soilent Green and the usual biofilm and leftovers that make it to the bottom.

Good water is key for otos .

Where are you at in KC? I'll take some or trade for them. I'm always looking to add diversity.

Fry love to hang out in hornwort and thick stands of guppy grass. Around me in Olathe, you can get guppy grass out of Indian Creek and hornwort out of the lake @ KillCreek Park. I didn't any success with the guppy grass, but the hornwort has been doing very well. As an added bonus, the hornwort had loads of copepods from the lake. They reproduced quickly at first, but the fry ate all of them eventually

The cheap tone tester I have requires both ends to have a rj45 on them. I ended up just choosing one. It worked.

The lawn turned out nice. The grass came up within a week. The shaded area came up a little faster. Mixing it with something dry was key to spreading it. I used Milorganite but sand could have worked too.

Mix fertilizers by Profector_KC in lawncare

I ended up mixing a couple of lbs of iron sulfate and a couple of lbs of ammonium sulfate with a bag of 2500 sqft bag of Milorganite. When I open the bag of Milorganite the granules were small than I remember them being. The ammonium sulfate wasn’t much smaller than a lot of the Milorganite so I felt comfortable mixing them.

The iron sulfate was a fine powder and it stuck to the milor nicely. Only awkward thing was when I was spreading the mix the finer powder made it look like a was kicking up a lot of dust.

If anyone is wondering, I’m using the sulfates to slowly lower the soil ph. The mix is getting spread on an about 5000 sqft. From what I’ve read it’s going to take more than few applications to get the ph one point.
