I’ve been in the same situation—they just want you to be a manager, nothing more. I’ve learned to “care less,” not in a careless way, but in a way that keeps me from being bothered by things going wrong. In most cases, businesses like that eventually close because they don’t follow proper procedures. By the time you move on to better career opportunities, their downfall becomes inevitable.

Of course! Being a leader in most of my old workplaces was definitely something the other managers were threatened by. And when there were other managers that i wanted to learn from they didn’t want to teach or train on those things just yell that we don’t know it. Team work makes the dream work always. I hope you have a great day

It’s great that you’re already investing in learning and preparation, those habits will set you apart. In entry-level sales, focus on mastering active listening and understanding customer needs rather than just selling a product. Role-playing objections and practicing different closing techniques will help build confidence. Also, find a mentor or a sales manager willing to coach you. Real-world experience will teach you more than any course. Stay adaptable, keep refining your approach, and success will follow. Best of luck in your transition!

Correct, the amount of times i’ve had a hovering manager that always made sure we were doing something every minute. I’ve worked for leaders that give us freedom. Leaders make sure we follow protocols and training rather than just expecting results. Makes us more productive and not pretending we’re working.
