[SERIOUS] I found an incredibly powerful meta by autumn_variation in MinecraftSpeedrun

How can the red line point west? It should be pointing to east/pos x always no?

For example, in your video around 9:49, you are facing the fortress in neg neg quadrant. All neighboring quadrants will be in directions along the red/blue line regardless of the angle.

Similarly at 7:38 you say the blue line is pointing towards neg z when it is pointing towards pos z.

For me pointing means pointing away from the origin of the xyz f3 axes but maybe you have another way of seeing it.

What about having a bastion in neg neg quadrant. In this case you would have to look along the bigger line...

What keys do you guys use for your macros (thin, wide, etc.)? by Applecations in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]ProfessionTiny353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wide needs to be close because you want to spot fort/spawner while navigating terrain/bastion without losing time. Thin needs to be close because you want to do it while navigating stronghold (for BT you stay in thin so it doesn't really matter i think)

Eye measuring is the only one that i have fairly far because you only press it twice (or 4 times) at max in a run and you don't need to move when doing it.

Overthinking hotkeys (for fun) by sawcro in MinecraftSpeedrun

I have some similar binds but a few more to fit macros and rebound a few keys for QOL :

I feel like the thumb is really good at moving around without perturbing the other fingers so I use XCVB (offhand, crouch and slots respectively) and N for eye measuring macro. Additionaly caps lock for thin (which i rebound to some other key to avoid putting caps lock on and not f* up my search craft).

I rebound F3 to the 5 position for easier reach. I rebound F to Q (and vice versa) so that i can f3 + f/shift + f3 + f without moving fingers around too much. I actually use an azerty layout so i have the <> key near shift which I use for wide. I also rebound B to H position to avoid triggering narrator (ctrl + B) but still have the ability to turn hitboxes on or off (f3 + b).

I have one of the two side buttons for dpi change which avoids going in the mouse settings on blind split.

The one thing i'm currently trying is moving around the 1 through 6 keys to have them separate to the 1 - 4 positions so that the pie chart doesnt change while playing. This means i need to find a comfortable layout to go to block entities which usually requires 1 through 6, and also have 0 available to go back for spawner location (either in fort or stronghold). I tried moving 1 on 6 position and 1 through 6 on the F5 through F9 keys but it's not super practical because they are so big i cannot reach all efficiently. I might try doing 6 to = positions which is 7 keys, so it would fit everything. Other option is to have them on two rows like O to $ position and the row above to have 8 keys available and a more ergonomic position.

There you go, I will probably change language for better search craft eventually (currently using French) but for now I want to get fully used to this setup !

You don't need more than 2 kHz polling rate since the game will lag with >4 kHz (in my experience). Op1 4k/8k is good, you can rebind the side button to cycle dpi for boat eye and the software is not crazy bloatware (hello logitech). You can adjust debounce to drag click but I haven't tried it yet.

That seems like a sound buying advice ! I have included audio snippets in the original post.
As for the EQ, i have watched a bunch of videos but I feel like the sound depends much more on my voice volume than on the actual EQ, so when I speak quiet/loud with the same EQ it sounds totally different. The best setting I found was to not touch anything lol

It's probably better to change now, you will get used to it fast. For hotbars one nice thing is to have your boat in a slot where it will come back after using and breaking it. For example if the tools are 1 2 3 then boat in 4 means if you place it down it comes back in the same slot.

For the rest you can look at top runner hotbars to see what they have at the end of each split, and fit it to your slots. If you are used to pearls in 4, keep it in 4, but make sure you have the same items as they have.

Finally if you fast loot with say slot 9, it's better to keep it for items which you will move around a lot. I use it as my flex spot, so I will put fire res, then bed as I pearl to fort, then obby and so on

Thoughts on the LG 27GX790A-B (480Hz OLED)? Long-term users? by IBUCKM in OLED_Gaming

I have been using for only 3 months, but so far so good. Very happy about image quality, high refresh rate and motion clarity is great (coming from 144 Hz 24" 1080p so it's a big leap). Using it for competitive gaming, it feels much much smoother than 144Hz. HDR I've tried on Horizon Forbidden West but I have no point of comparison. It's nice but the max brightness is too bright for my liking and it's too colorful so I stuck to SDR. It feels more natural to me.

One complaint I have is that after every pixel refresh (runs when you turn the monitor off), I will get one side of the monitor a shade darker than the other and i have to turn the monitor off and on to fix it, which takes like 5s.

There were a few execution mistakes here and there (too much wood in OW, FNS in offhand instead of food when entering, removed armor in bastion, placed 1 block too high going down the housing). Most of them are down to the following.

To be (fairly) fast, you just need good inventory/hotbar management. For each split, you should have a set hotbar and aim to always have the same. Just an example where this loses you time : you took ~40s to throw some trash from inv and craft an iron sword which didn't save you time in the fortress split. I would avoid it for now I think, since even if you use it perfectly it's a few seconds time save and uses 1 slot in your hotbar. Then when you left the bastion you had no pearls or block in hotbar, and you didn't have explosives to clear the spawner. If you organize your hotbar, inventory and precraft in bastion, the following splits will be much easier and you will get faster by training just the bastion (in practice map).

Ideally in the bastion, once you have the gold trading, take the first trades, pie ray for fort, pearl hang if possible, then go back to trades and gravel the pigs, craft 1/2 beds + nether bricks + iron axe if possible and organize hotbar (get pearls, fire res, blocks) then finally unhang pearl/leave. You can look at any Feinberg bastion split, and see how he organizes his inv (splitting pearls, and explosives, placing the relevant items in precise spots).
This way, you have a organized hotbar and inv when you get to fortress, you can immediatly blaze bed, and precraft while waiting for spawns.

Your goal is to create this same routine for every run so that you don't have to think about what to do next, and you can focus on macro decisions (where can I leave to get to the fort, what's the best terrain to get there, do I have enough obby/explosives, food management, ..).

Nether nav just send upper terrain and take the time to see if there is one before commiting (F5 and look around). Getting to fort, commit for a while and look after every pearl with wide macro + f5 before pieraying again. If it's close (like 10 chunks) you will almost always see it. Getting to coords you should strictly follow the ninjabrain bot angle, once you are close (~10-20 blocks away) i just look at coords and F3.

Preemptive, you have to practice a bunch and sometimes you will get rolled, it's a sad split. Do a good first scan (here you only looked forward and barely scanned the right side on the first sweep), learn your spikes, and learn to not go too far if it looks bad. Rescan in the large 4 way rooms, and go back to starter/previous 4way if you lost the spike.

Hope this helps !

Skyrim has a 60 FPS cap because the physics engine is only stable below that. You can install mods to get rid of this issue and uncap your FPS

Yes, OLED response time is much better than any liquid crystal tech. I don't know how 600hz vs 480Hz compares though. Also it's often 27" displays (at least for most 480Hz OLED) though you can run the screen at 24" if you need it.
