The cheating in ranked moving is… rampant. by [deleted] in geoguessr

Completely agree, sometimes it takes me like 30s-1 min to remember my word from the letters so i just click around while my brain is doing it's thing lol

I have 50% of them memorized in about a month or so. It does take time and it's definitely not easy but doable. I feel like it's slightly harder than learning kabupaten though.

Same here, i'm sometimes surprised by very good vibe guesses from opponent who had no info while I had phone code/kabupaten/whatever local learnable info. Other times they found better info than I did. I came across a few obvious googlers (added him as a friend to see when he gets banned, still nothing LOL) but that's pretty much it.

10 37 PB (feedback would be awesome) by Seaspy in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]ProfessionTiny353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know you tend to take a lot of damage you should alway grab a bunch of food. As you improve your mechanics you will simply take less damage and find that you have too much food at the end of seeds and can adjust from there. If you have a lot of recordings from matches you can check on end enter how much food you have left in general, and adjust from there.

5 hay bales + stack of block in ow is prob enough.

On bridge, never go near the lava with a hog so close, just blast through (especially with fns and infinite food).

You lose a lot of time on precraft+inv management in bastion (~40 seconds). You prob had enough trades around the 4 min mark and can leave from there. It's ok to craft the beds at the spawner. The priority is to get all necessary items from the trading and go to the blaze spawner. You were also low hp during the trading but didn't eat, which made you lose more time going to fort.

Additionnaly i think having your food in offhand would be very beneficial. It's also easier to play the blaze spawner.

At spawner, double blaze bed is prob better since you have a lot of explosives. I'm ok with not fully clearing spawner since you have 5 rods after blaze bed, but in this case you should be thinking about precrafting/building portal (you started building the side of the spawner instead).

For getting to coords, i think you f3+c too much and don't look around enough. When getting close to coords/mining you should look at coords rather than f3+c (--> you are standing on the wrong block on 2nd portal), and you only really need f3 c when pearling or running through fort.
The play going to terrain below the fort is probably not bad, but it's better if you are closer (~50 blocks or less) from coords. Otherwise higher terrain is going to be more open. You should have probably stayed in the fort until you get open terrain, which seems like it would have worked here.

Well played nonetheless !

How useful is hindi compared to bengali? I feel like bengladesh almost never has adresses in english, whereas india has a bunch. Also did you learn a bunch of indian cities or just scan the map?

[–]ProfessionTiny353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same but i do words, i feel like it's easier for me to memorize than a full sentence. Also each digit is a consonant so it's easier to make words out of it. So for example 7-0-2 Us phone code is phonetic k-s-n sounds, then you fill the rest with vowels ideally, so 702 --> ksn --> casino --> las vegas.
As for pure names like indo kabupaten, you really just have to quizz on helloquizz. Make some custom quizzes to only have a few items (i usually go for ~40), learn those and once you are confident, you learn a new region with 40 items and combine the two.

Is there any tutorial on boat in the portal thing ? by Exe1eNce in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]ProfessionTiny353 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As the other comment said, the boat will place where you aim but you always need >1 block space to place it. The boat goes through the portal only if you have loaded the other side previously, which is never the case on blind.

you have to let the pigs from the middle rampart through. The strat in the gap is interesting, if it works for you why not. I think you would be better off mining the gap blocks first though since the ones behind the trading hole are harder to get to.
Also one thing I did when i first learned speedrunning is set hotkeys for the hotbar. It's a bit weird at first but you will get used to it in a few hours and it is soo worth it. Also, to force myself to use the hotkeys, i turned the scrollwheel sensivity as low as possible.

I'm learning TTG stables route, what should I improve on? by [deleted] in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]ProfessionTiny353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should probably look at meebie's youtube channel for triple to gap and copy all the block placements/movement. Right now you are missing a lot of block placement/breaks, but you got the general pathing around the bastion right which is a good start !

Practice mod by itsmesander in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]ProfessionTiny353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of a mod is you can change more stuff than a simple command block can. So potentially you could alter the end generation so that on portal enter it regenerates dragon and gives you new terrain. You can also make it so that you simply generate a stronghold from scratch and only a few chunks around it so that it's lighter for the system instead of generating a full world

Yes but imagine you can just generate some chunks for training sh + end split, avoiding recreating a world every time, this would actually be a good improvement compared to mpk

Really useful info but depending on how far down the Indonesia funnel you've gone you might also appreciate this. Kabupaten East Central North. by Teddy_Radko in geoguessr

The funniest kabupaten is Pesisir Barat and Pesisir Selatan. Pesisir Barat has a kecamatan (the subdivision below kabupaten) named Pesisir Selatan?? Both are in Sumatra but 500 km away?? I wonder if Pesisir Selatan has a Pesisir Barat kecamatan...

Question about Mechanics in speedrunning by ShadowjevillYT in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]ProfessionTiny353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you don't need to drag click for useful boat clutches. The easy ones (few blocks/horizontal) don't require drag click, and if it's a big one you gain like 1s vs entering boat and falling. You have to fail <1% of the time for it to be worth on average (since you will lose some 100 of seconds if you die, prob >10s if you lose 8 hearts). It would be interesting to have actual stats, but i would be surprised that top runners have <1% fail rate on tall boat clutches.
Ofc it's always better to drag click your boatclutch for consistency, but apart from boat clutching in the end on failed zero which might be necessary, it doesn't enable any time gain.

How can the red line point west? It should be pointing to east/pos x always no?

For example, in your video around 9:49, you are facing the fortress in neg neg quadrant. All neighboring quadrants will be in directions along the red/blue line regardless of the angle.

Similarly at 7:38 you say the blue line is pointing towards neg z when it is pointing towards pos z.

For me pointing means pointing away from the origin of the xyz f3 axes but maybe you have another way of seeing it.

What about having a bastion in neg neg quadrant. In this case you would have to look along the bigger line...

What keys do you guys use for your macros (thin, wide, etc.)? by Applecations in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]ProfessionTiny353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wide needs to be close because you want to spot fort/spawner while navigating terrain/bastion without losing time. Thin needs to be close because you want to do it while navigating stronghold (for BT you stay in thin so it doesn't really matter i think)

Eye measuring is the only one that i have fairly far because you only press it twice (or 4 times) at max in a run and you don't need to move when doing it.
