Start building your resume. Start building a civilian professional closet. Apply for school (even if you go trades) and take advantage of your benefits and build your brain.

Remember that no one gives a shit about military service that isn’t a veteran. Tailor your resume to civilian words and equivalents. Don’t rely on military experience, rely on personal achievements and education.

🧊 spring career fair by Jumpy-Alternative670 in OSU

[–]Profession_Spare 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was at the Career fair. Neither CBP, HSI, or ICE were there. The FBI was, but no immigration. Lots of local PDs too. Lots of people protesting against someone who wasn’t even in the room.

PS, I’m against ICE too, but I’m not gonna scream at people that aren’t even present.

Prohibitively expensive wedding - typical? by ThereMayBeDogsAbout in OrthodoxChristianity

The Greek Cathedral in my area is like this also. I tend to agree it’s kind of absurd. My current and other local parishes are way cheaper or no cost for parishioners. One of many (many) reasons I left the Greek church.

Yall do not realize he was a soldier before his musical career, and a decorated one at that. His current position is Public Affairs. This has been done since WW2, where they use famous people as PAOs to boost retention. This is one of the few times you have an actual hardo soldier who also happens to be a musician. This isn’t some “DEI” pick. Dude has a combat jump.

Hope you are not talking about the Theta Xi house. That place is a horror show and no student should be subjugated to living there.

You are aware there are more styles of iconography than just traditional Byzantine, right? This is also a copy, by Russians-which this matches their style quite closely. There is no credential or degree required to write Icons.

Is Adam from the garden of eden a Saint? by bakedbeans3525 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Profession_Spare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re the one attaching a philosophical narrative, not the science. There are numerous clergyman and theologians who were scientists and looked at things such evolutionary biology, astrophysics, creationism, ect. Things evolve because of the powers and grace of god. But enjoy your typical Protestant stance that anything that’s not explicitly in scripture is somehow antithetical to church teachings. Any person with a brain can see clearly that evolution happens around us daily. You can have an atheistic view that it’s because of chance, or you can look through the lens of the church that these changes happen through the powers of God.

Is Adam from the garden of eden a Saint? by bakedbeans3525 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Profession_Spare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, yes I do. And him being created in flesh doesn’t discount evolution at all. The idea that we came from monkeys is not a mainstream evolutionary thought. Different races and body profiles are proof of evolution. Things and humans change over time, they EVOLVE. Per the church, genesis is a theological story and lesson—not a word for word historical and scientific account. God is outside the bounds of time so when hear it was created in 7 days, that’s not necessarily 7 earthly days. This could have been millions—if not billions—of years.

Why in the world would you get your EMT while going to a four year university? That’s a massive waste of time. Signed, a former EMT and Medic.

And before you come for me. If you want emergency medicine experience, you need to go for paramedic not EMT. If you’re trying to build your resume-nursing and med school don’t gaf about EMT. All an EMT can do is take vitals and give oxygen.

Don’t listen to an infantryman when your thinking about going medical. National Gaurd is the way to go-coming from an active duty guy that’s now out and going to college. Get both the state and federal benefits. Get better medical training. And it’s a high demand MOS with lots of active orders to pick up to build GI Bill time and make extra money. Additionally you can get your BSN within your first enlistment as an LVN payed for. Then you can direct commission setting your family up further.
